Strange problem with campaign button

Im experiencing a very peculiar problem that doesnt fix even after I close the game and restart it. I played through the tutorial no problem but everytime I click on campaign all it does is change the tip information. Im thinking I have not installed the game properly, even though I used sudo apt-get wesnoth. Im using Ubuntu Hardy and version 1.4. Please help. I'd like to get farther in the game.

The wesnoth package contains no campaigns, if you want to play the official campaigns get yourself the wesnoth-all package (apt-get install wesnoth-all).
