I use FL Studio as of now but it's really getting on my nerves because it was tailored for dance music.

EnergyXT, Traktion, ... Those are like Cubase, FL, Live, ... They are made to create wavs.
Sobelius, Finale, ... are score editors, and make only .mid files.

Can anyone reccommend me a freeware, simple, music changing program (that can change .ogg files)

can anyone recommend a good music maker, to compose music on computer, disregarding the money it costs to buy it?

i am bad at playing instrument

PS: not too advance, but better than finale notepad, yet not taking more than...100 mb disk space?

I made my wesnoth music thingy with sibelius 2.

http://roelthijs.sin.khk.be/muziek/MarchOfTheUndead.ogg

That's the file i recorded, I just pushed play in sibelius and recorded it with something called soundpad or something. I think sibelius is easier and faster than finale.

hm...

"recorded it with something called soundpad "

But they are both free

...I think
"The men of Wu and the men of Yueh are enemies; yet if they are crossing a river in the same boat and are caught by a storm, they will come to each other's assistance. Hence it is not enough to put one's trust in the tethering of horses -Sun Tzu

The all time best program for making music for Mac OS X anyway, (in my opinoin) is Garage Band. It records from a live instrumant, and it comes with a whole band of different intsturmints that you can "play" using just your keybord (I recomeond also getting a program called MidiKeys for that) and there is a whole library of prerecorded "clips" (for lack of a better word) that you can mix together and create these really groovy tracks. If you see check out my Campaign, "Northern Rebirth" the music I made on that is just mixing togother those clips. There is only one track right now but there will soon be more.

take a look at this realy low cost program :

http://www.magix.com/select.html

(music studio)

it's a clone of logic audio (logic audio now only on mac), one of the best programs with cubase, AND a clone of samplitude ! i think you couldn't find so good for such low price (~50€)

I used to use Modplug Tracker on Windows. Check for it in SourceForge.net.

When the original guy (Olivier) discontinued work on it he GPL'd it.

I use Buzz. It's quite old, but its succesor BuzzLE should be released soon.

For more information about music software:

edit:

I forgot to mention that both Buzz and BuzzLE are completely free with full functionality.

I didn't see anyone mentioning Renoise, so I decided to. It's a very good tracker in the spirit on good old FT2, but with all the modern luxuries like vst support. Full version costs something like 50 euros, and the demo version has full functionality minus rendering to wav.
