Dutch translation

Post by Tux2B »

Hello.

Even if I am not English nor Dutch, I can speak both languages and would like to help translating some .po files into Dutch. Is there anything that isn't translated by anybody? :?:

Ik kan goed nederlands praten, maar omder nederlands niet mijn moedertaal is er een risico dat er fouten in de vertaling komen :) . Maar hopelijk niet te veel (nederlands praat ik vloeiend)

Translation statistics are at http://gettext.wesnoth.org/ and show Dutch pretty much complete, but with lots still to be done on user campaigns. See http://wesnoth.slack.it/?WesnothTranslations and http://wesnoth.slack.it/?WesCamp for more information on translations.

The Lengend of Wesmere

Post by Tux2B »

:D Here is the beggining of the translation of the Legend of Wesmere in
Dutch. I have already translated about 117 messages. I worked on 135 of
them, but I couldn't translate well some of them, so I left gaps :) . I'd
be glad if someone could fill them in.
I will go on with translating this campaign, but I think some corrections will be needed. :arrow: If anyone has found any mistake, please tell it on the forum by sending a post-reply.

Hi Tux2B!
For translating this user campaign you should contact Tornagan. All the info you need you will find here: http://wesnoth.slack.it/?WesCamp You should add yourself to the wiki-translation-page for this campaign at the WesCamp wiki page I linked above.
You should also email Torangan that you are working on this campaign.

I have already contacted Torangan on the "Dutch translation what has to be done" forum.
The trouble is I can't become a "permanent" translator, because I have no time enough. So I can only help sometimes. :)

You don't have to be a permanent translator. Translate what you can in your spare time and send it to me, the dutch maintainer (depending on wheter it's a user campaign or for mainline). Someone else will then be able to improve upon your work if need be.

Hi Tux2B,

Your Dutch is really good :) I've read through the first 200 lines of the file you posted and made a list of mistakes that I found along with suggested corrections:

Code: Select all

Leef het verhaal (...) mee -> Beleef het verhaal (...) ["meeleven" means something like "to take pity"]
ork invasie -> orkinvasie
afgerondt -> afgerond
had gezegd -> hebt gezegd
Dat toverdrank -> Die toverdrank
dat spul constant tegen dat -> constant tegen dat spul
Crelanuhad je gewaarschuwd -> Crelanu heeft je gewaarschuwd
Ook al gingen wij -> Ook al gaan we
Ik grote vertrouwen -> Ik heb groot vertrouwen
verontrust gesteld door -> verontrust over
beter dan mij -> beter dan ik
zoals het erop lijkt -> zoals het lijkt
aan de slechte kant -> naar de slechte kant
waar je zin in heeft -> waar je zin in hebt
I'll continue reading and collect my suggestions in a text file that I will post here. Keep up the good work and let me know when you have more translations.

Thank you for your corrections. I will correct my mistakes as soon as can, and send the corrected version of the file (with some more translated messages)

Nice to hear. But if you'd like to have something included in wescamp-i18n, just send it to me by mail. I usually don't search the forums for stuff to include. :wink:
Send it to me when you're either finished or don't expect to have time to work on it soon again.

Thank you for your corrections. As I am not Dutch, I surely make lots of mistakes, so your corrections are very important.
:arrow: By the way, how do you advise me to translate "Treasury"?
