Special notes one per line

Post by josteph »

The in-game help for Ancient Lich includes this paragraph:
2019-03-25-142627_890x53_scrot.png
Would anyone prefer showing the special notes one per line, like this?

I like that style, because for me so it is much more easier to read, and easier to understand when it is displayed line by line.

Second one is better. Would this be for all units or just the ones with multiple special notes?
And could it be coded so it's automatically applied instead of having to go through all Files individually?

Yeah I think the bullet points are better. :)

Oooh, bullet points please.

The standard special notes are macros, so it'll probably only need to change in the macro definitions.

Okay, I get the picture :) I made the change in master in 093fbc82fd7c2fd636a7f8fd4aeace55d025e64b. I hesitate to backport it because some UMC units have custom special notes and backporting the change would make those units' special notes look haphazard, especially if they have both mainline and custom special notes on the same unit. Maybe I'm too conservative about this.

Bullet point list is a definite improvement, I'm kind of wondering why the idea didn't appear earlier :D
Backporting it to the stable release may indeed not be the best idea, insufficiently maintained add-ons would result in a very messy special notes section.
Main UMC campaigns: The Ravagers - now for 1.16, with new bugs!
Old UMC works: The Underness Series, consisting of 5 parts: The Desolation of Karlag, The Blind Sentinel, The Stone of the North, The Invasion Of The Western Cavalry, Fingerbone of Destiny

It would be also great to get rid of the macros and changing it that the special note descriptions are automatically appended. The old macros should become empty strings then, for downwards compatibility reasons.
