It might not be possible anymore. There is --userconfig-dir and --userdata-dir and --config-dir, but only config one can be set to relative path.

Code: Select all

ravana@ravana-think ~/wesnoth/wesnoth-lobby $ wesnoth14 --userconfig-dir ./userdata --userdata-dir ./userdata --config-dir ./userdata
using ~/wesnoth/wesnoth-lobby/wesnoth

Keep in mind that anything you download from Portable Apps was not put there by Wesnoth, and its use it not supported.

Considering Wesnoth is statically linked, probably, all you need do is put the user and data directories on a stick with the executable, and create a command-line shortcut/script/whatever which points at them. So you should be able to portable-ize things on your own.

They might have done some compile-time changes to the directories to make it so they don't need the command-line thing. The rest of their stuff looks like it's there to check if THEY put out a new version.

We don't know what all they did (and I, for one, could care less). The "not supported" comment means we can't help if the game won't start or is missing bits and pieces. That doesn't mean we won't look into problems, but we can't help if it turns out they messed something up.
I forked real life and now I'm getting merge conflicts.
