Version 0.7 released:

- idle- and deathanimations for all italian units
- balance changes: increased costs for aircraft, decreased costs for infantry and guns, new profile for autoblindo etc.

(Yes, the L3-33 is a little tankette!)

Is there a reason, why my mod isnt available on modserver any longer? :(

It is still available. However, you might want to port it to current stable version, 1.12, as well.

Last update was two years ago, so I think its time for me, to share some news.
First of all: Since I port Westfront to Wesnoth 1.12.2 you downloaded this era 300 times! Thank you very much. If you like my work, please let me know and write a comment below.

I take up the work again and the mainpart is still the possibility to upgrade units. So I have to create more of them:

Here´s the new sprite for "Panzer IV":

Battle for Westfront version 0.7.1 is live.

Changes:
- Complete Upgrades for all units of German Reich
- Fixed a Bug where Planes can occupy Villages

Next step in Upgradeplan are the polish forces.

2 thoughts accompany me in designprocess
1. I tried to emphasize the focus on artillery
2. I want a contrast to the German "Allround"-Army

Some notes for my upgradedecisions:
The polish army is the only force, which get a 3-stage artillery upgrade for their Wz.1897 artillery. On 3. stage you can find the PL590 with 155mm, that can destroy even the heaviest tanks!
7-TP become a Vickers 6-ton tank, which has a better armor penetration, but weaker armor.
Wz.34 light vehicle improve to a light armored and fast TKS Tankette or optional to a slow, but mid-armored and armed R-35 tank.
To keep the "fluff"/"flair (I really dont know the right word for this) on the husars, they only get a new AT-rifle to penetrate armor.
The infantry gets a elite-status or become a pionier which can repair all kind of artillery.
The wz.31 mortar finally, gets a elite-status, too. Second option is the wz.30 heavy machinegun with high rate of fire.

7-TP -> Vickers 6t

wz. 34 -> TKS Tankette
wz.34 -> Renault R-35

wz.1897 -> PL580 100mm wz. 14/19 -> PL590 155mm wz. 17 gun

Husar -> AT-Husar

Polishinfantry -> Eliteinfantry
Polishinfantry -> Pionier (repairs artillery)

Wz.31 -> wz.30 machine-gun
Wz.31 -> Elite-Wz.31

I have been using the Battle for Westfront Era for a few weeks. Ruglud, I want to commend you on doing a fantastic job. Keep up the good work and may I see more of this from you.

There are a few GPL2 licensed WWII sprites coming with FreeCiv. Maybe they come useful. It would also make some sense to introduce more realistic mechanics, like supply lines and air units requiring airfields, because without supply lines it would be impossible to model WWII battles.

@Nikita_Sadkov: First of all, thank you very much for playing Westfront. A few notes to your comment. I didnt used sprites from other guys and projects in the past and I did not use them in the future. Westfront using a unique mix and style of units and I want to keep it. You´re right, supply and logistics in 2. World War were extremly importend. But I want to make an era with its mechanics close to to the original Wesnoth. First "Battle for Westfront" versions were different, but the people cannot stand it, when its to special. I´m happy with the actual way of Westfront and I hope you, too. Beside your hints, of course. ^_^

Nice! I suggest you add a map pack to the add-on, maybe the Battle of the Bulge, Battle of Brittan, Stalingrad, etc.
Good work so far though
If at first you don't succeed, blow something up. It won't necessarily help you succeed, but it will be fun.

Really nice looking modification, keep working.
I have two questions:
1. When do you planning to add Japan?
2. I hear that Germans had plans to create some kind mega tank and "flying bell", do you gonna create that units?

There´s a mappack in "Muliplayer Development" Forum with 2 4p Maps, called "Poland" and "Fjord".
Pls remember the early war period of my era. Stalingrad, Bulge etc. are Mid/late war period. But feel free to build your own mappacks, maybe especially for "Battle for Westfront" ;)

@Mad_Hatter:
1. As I said before, my era is early war period in europe. Maybe I will add Japan later, to treat the sowiet-japanese war. At the moment, Japan isnt part of my plans.
2. Definitely, no. Reason one: Early war. Reason two: I only want to see core units in my era. :)

Fantastic era !
I have also an Idea to save up some time and work, for the future maybe.
As you know WW2 was fought by many nations, but instead of creating one faction for every nation, to make things more simple you can add 2 factions called something like "minor allied factions" one for the Axis and the other for the Allies, one that include some units from the various nations allied with the Axis and the other with some units of the countries that joined the Allies.

Anyway just an idea.
