Re: Nightmares
Are these portraits going to be cropped at the characters' waists like in mainline? Because I'm seeing a problem here...

Re: Nightmares
Nope. Because they're rather squat, and not huge monsters, just this once I'm going to show the full figure with a bit of ground underneath.

Re: Nightmares
Hi Lordbob,
Optically the transparent black stripe in game (about 160 pixel) does serve as ground to me.
So I would suggest to check if the units can be displayed without an additional foothold. (Like the saurians).
Keep up the good work. Nice to see you supporting workshop.

Re: Nightmares
@Wussel: Are you refering to the dialog bar overlay ? I could give it a shot, but it really feels like they'd be floating in mid-air. Can someone provide an ingame screen capture of the saurian, please ?
Anyway, here's the finished L2 eye. I also changed a few details in the L1 so that the picture works better.

Re: Nightmares
And here are the final portraits ready to commit, complete with lines and in both full- and unit profile size.
I've packed them because attaching 8 files is a bit of a hassle and might have required a double post. Let me know if there's any problem.
If you're feeling lazy and don't want to open the archive, I've posted the full-size final pictures on my blog
Which should bring this round to a conclusion. I hope you people enjoyed watching the process as much as I enjoyed drawing.

Re: Nightmares
Sure did enjoy watching, it's fascinating. Incredible work as usual.

Re: Nightmares
They look amazing! I especially like that they're standing on something and not magically float in the air.

Yes, please do it! I could find a use of several of your backgroundsLordBob wrote: To say the least, I will probably recycle the background as generic story art in the future.

Re: Nightmares
The portraits are great. I think I like non-outlined versions more but I understand that the established portrait convention for the game requires thick lines. I can live with them. Congratulations.
