Koopanda send me the improved version of the Leutnant. You can see it on first post. (Shoulderbadges added, changes in the face)

This is exactly what I was going to say. Besides, this is an art workshop. As I see it, the point is to post WIP art and get some constructive critique about it. Hope you don't see the constructive comments as negative feedback. Another thing is that I spend quite some effort to clean up one of the sprites. I really didn't except comment like "whatever, this is v0.5, not going to do that". Seriously, if you are not interested in improving your art, then why are you posting it here?

For an explicit positive comment: I see good thing going on here. Keep it going! ^_^

This isnt what I mean. Based on your example I could see what you mean with "cleaning up" and I wrote this before on first page.

I hope you dont really read my answer like "Whatever, this is v.0.5, not going to do that." Maybe, I cant phrase right. Your feedback is a basement for me.

The result of your feedback. A "clean" BF109 and Ju 87:

That being said: I'm not sure about the planes...

I believe all planes should face SE. Second: I'm having doubts on most of your wings. LeO 45: the back of the left wing seems to be more forward than/not in one line with the right.
SM 79: I think the cockpit should stick out more, like here. When enlarging the pic, the wings seem to have quite a funny shape.
I have a cunning plan.

To clean them up was only the first step. I wanted to know, if you like it now. Change of the position/recreating models will follow as a second step.

The aircraft on your linked picture isnt a SM 79. Here: http://www.hyperscale.com/galleries/200 ... 79er_5.JPG

Unfortunately I'm not qualified to judge the cleanliness. I think the wings are wrong but thought I'd wait for the re-facing.

Sorry. I can't tell them apart. :) Still think the nose should protrude more.

I like b better. a looks sagged (tail going up funnily).

Could you maybe make it face SE instead of ESE?

I think b.) is a mix of SE and ESE. To change it more in SE direction means to completely rework it again. To answer your question: It is possible.

LeO 45 is probably most similar to the mainline units view angle.
i mean, not only the horizontal, but also the vertical angle.
made an image to try to figure out a consistent view angle some time ago:

just in case, a disclaimer:
as far as i understand, the view angle is not right or wrong by itself, it only matters if you expect to use your units with units made by other people, and other people to use your units with their own units.
and the mainline view angle was probably chosen with best intentions to make the units and terrain look good together.

I think I will rework only the filthy or transparent pixels now and dont change the positions or their facing. The reason is simple: I had massive difficulties by creation of the aircraftsprites. I think even the Ju 87 or the fighter looks good in their "wrong" position. It dont looks funny or anything.

I like your last round of pics.

The soldier: the pants look kinda baggy. I usually envision those guys with boots over pants, like here.

And the planes still look funny to me; it's like a flat view on the side of the fuselage while the wings seem to be rotated to the right.
I have a cunning plan.

Nice to hear.

Soldier: This is the only one with the pants over his boots. Its some kind of variation and give this unit more "character". You can see this kind of wearing on many pictures in battles. Like http://www.strangecosmos.com/images/content/125169.jpg

Some guys like the plaines, some not. I cant please everyone. :hmm:

Regarding the soldier's baggy pants: they have pockets in their pants that all their stuff goes in. Medical supplies, flashlight...

The sprites look nice, BTW. :)
Sorta on a break from the forums ATM, have been for a while. If I was doing something for/with you and I haven't recently, that's why, I will be back soon hopefully.
