People on multiplayer bad attitude

Post by haze »

NSFW language warning:
I just made mistakes while playing and he just ... He gave me tips but it was too late for me to realize that... until I got beaten. So he just talked to me like this like a kid.

I'm far from encouraging this kind of behavior, but seriously? These two lines get you going? You must be new to the internetz then. Relax a little, and don't take everything so serious.

Welcome to the internet, enjoy your stay. Here's something that might help (NSFW-language): a guide to insults
Oh, I'm sorry, did I break your concentration?

Rest assured, not all of us act so immaturely.

The more you play I feel the more you’ll be able to filter out the bad players and have nice ones instead to play with again and again.

Manners maketh man and cost nothing. I wouldn't play with the guy that turned up in your chat log either.

There's no reason we should condone that behavior here, though.

Of course not, and that’s why the Multiplayer moderators exist.

Whispers are kind of a gray area in my opinion, though. Unlike here in the forums—where a PM report function exists—an individual user can only provide evidence of whisper abuse through screenshots or transcriptions, and it’s too easy to fabricate evidence this way (especially so if the abuser doesn’t have a registered account). Of course, if multiple different users report the same person that’s a different matter.

I have to question the point of this topic to the original poster, though.

The alleged (ab)user in question doesn’t visit the forums, and we have different, well-documented methods to contact MP moderators for assistance whenever required.

It is also entirely possible he was just having a bad day. :P

Do yourself a favor and just ignore these types of players.
