Game Over, rematch tomorrow!

Mr Mourinho(Kira's khalifate) correctly predicted my scouts and sought to trap one early, my super-awesome retreat plan was spoiled by a falcon who wouldn't die and then I couldn't move my wose up to help. So the khalifate wiped the floor with the elves as their leader fled in terror. Seeing little fire archers in Mourinho's forces, the great mage called upon nature to aid her against the falcon-enslaving khalifate. The tree-sheperds smashed the evil men bringing an uneasy truce. However as the mage led the assault on the enemy base her northern commander made a tactical error and the elvish forces were overrun, even the mighty woses falling. In a last desperate gambit, the mage gathered her remaining forces and harried the evil Mourinho back over the plains towards his waiting army. The coward fled before the mage as his northern army returned to save him and alas even she could not overcome their numbers, falling beside the stronghold of her old mentor, Sulla.

Very interesting Elves vs new Khalifate game, which plays a bit differently to before I think.

Fish and Crem: Please try to get your second game going ASAP.

Well, tough game for the dwarves here I feel, my main thoughts are in the chatlog. A tense game right up until the final turn, when loyals smashed a dwarf army that stayed too close for the day.

Our final game is scheduled for next saturday, feel free to look in and see one of our finalists determined!

Crem and fish: It'd be great if you guys could be finished by next Saturday too and we could move straight to the final. Please try to get the 2nd game at least played by then and let us know when its on if possible.

We did meet each other yesterday in the end, I don't know what doc has done to our map generators but we eventually(after about 4 restarts for various reasons) ended up on another Frontier Map: Thousand Stings Garrison.

P1 Drakes for Kira vs P2 Elves for me. I started with some pressure in the night but I wasn't really expecting to attack out of it(I remember a KoTF game, exact same matchup vs Daunt where that went wrong for me) but Kira tried a pre-emptive strike, killing my only scout and leaving himself in a position for me to engage. A tense and rather frustrating few turns for me followed, I often managed to put good damage into the drakes from nice terrain but every time I went for the killing blow I came up 1 strike short. A shaman and fighter commando in the south managed to keep the leader off the keep, which kept me in it for a while but eventually the extra damage and xp from the surviving drakes told. The game was probably lost there about turn 10.

I spent the next few turns playing ultra defensive, trying to give Kira a chance to make a mistake but he didn't take any of them and eventually my captain decided to attack at night rather than wait for another drake day. The elves gave a good account of themselves in the north but not enough to match the drake numbers and lvl 2s.

I guess the rng gods punished me for taunting group Centauri . Thanks for the games Kira and good luck in the final .

Regarding the other semi, Cremember appears to have gone MIA, so I'll let you know whats to happen there when I've figured it out. This thing seems to go on forever.

Bad news unfortunately.

I've been trying to contact Cremember for his semi-final with thefish for a while now and I've had no response. In my PM on Monday I said if I didn't get a response by Friday I'd have to advance thefish through to the final. Additionally, I haven't seen Crem around the server and he hasn't played any ladder games in a while. I hope he's ok, the messages are leaving my outbox which I thought meant he's reading them but I'm not sure.

We can't wait forever though, so I'm giving thefish a walkover over in the other semi-final. It's a terrible way to decide a finalist unfortunately.

I Hereby Pronounce the WTT Final open:

The final is a best of 5 series and thefish has told me he will try post the times for each game. Hope to see everyone there!

i feel a bit sorry for your efforts. its a shame that the finalists-to-be take forever for their games. on a side note: this is normal in competitions and tells you a lot about the players character. and it was clear it would happen, so dont be sad

Now i want to rally the remaining last participants to play their games, ANNOUNCE THEM PROPERLY, and expect more audience for the final! to stem this effortlessly, i plan to make a small announcement on the L page so others will take interest in the khalifate gameplay be it from earlier games or one of those of the future.

surely every wesnoth player has a life except wesnoth: its a point of view if you let your opponents, the organizer and the observers hang in the air forever while at the same time not supplement the reason why. and of course, this says a lot about the character, how can you even start debating with me on this point? its just bad behaviour, because if i know i cant participate, then i dont - or if something happens, i excuse myself and empty my spot for more enthusiastic players. im watching tbs writing almost a solo on page 28 of this thread, and i know how he feels. thats why im also promoting the finals on the mainpage of the L. for those of you drawn to this site by the L page: feel free to cheer for your favorite!

Assuming Crem was able to reply, I would be quite disappointed with him. As csarmi said, you just need 5 mins to send me a message and save a lot of hassle. The likelihood that he was unable to do this is pretty low. We don't know his situation though, so I don't think its entirely fair to make judgements.

In any case, nothing we can do now, so lets just focus on the finals.
