Re: Ancient Lich Development
Nice work Knightmare. I will try my hand at the AL development. The only thing odd about this one is that he is wearing a hat... it just seems odd to me. Personally I would give him a crown and a ripped cloak, as he is ancient by definition. I would also try to give him some more light armor.

If so you would know the official verdict on a frankensteined sprite being used for the ancient lich is:Lord-Knightmare wrote:but I was viewing the topic often
So if the two of you want to 'develop' the ancient lich in this way, please take it to the art workshop and out of this thread. And using the old ancient lich head is kinda counterproductive since the whole point of this thread is to completely do away with that sprite.Jetrel wrote:No, we're not doing that.
Frankensteined sprites here are, at best, a proof of concept and you're not really doing anything unique or original with that. I really don't want this thread spammed with bad frankies.

Re: Ancient Lich Development
Here's what I have so far:
Made a thicker bottom robe (still need to add rips, tears, etc.)
Eliminated the feet showing.
Gave it an off-white look (to show age).
Used a Lich head (until I can make one myself).
I added a tattered scarf.
Temporarily used the staff of a Lich.
This is the basic body shape, just without all the touch-ups and add-ons.
I took a lot of the top clothing off (so as I can add shoulder and maybe broken armor later).Made a thicker bottom robe (still need to add rips, tears, etc.)

Re: Ancient Lich Development
Huh, that looks like an undead version of Fancy Pants Man.
This topic is for development of the mainline Ancient Lich concept. Please don't take this wrong, but if your level of sprite art is nowhere near mainline quality yet, your attempts would be better posted in a thread in Art Workshop, not Contributions. You need to practice more before signing up for the Big League. Just some advice.

I will now resume lurking silently.

I'm giving people an idea of what I'm working on. This is nowhere near mainline. Not even close. This is the basic shape.

...Which is exactly why it belongs in the Art Workshop.
