Re: android support
I've got a friend with an EVO 4G who might be coerced into testing with his phone.
Re: android support
I don't know Java very well, so I'm not much help. Though, I would be so ecstatic if a Wesnoth port reared its head. I would buy it even if you charged $50 dollars for it.

you are going to give someone an idea
Android is supposed to be free. Wesnoth is supposed to be free. But if you must you could charge money.
.... though I would probably just find a hacked 'pirated' version

Re: android support
What would be pirated about it, exactly? The GPL permits sales, but it also permits free distribution.

I'm in to test it on my HTC desire HD. Anyone has a link for a beta version?

Re: android support
I suppose the one that said that he was near to be able to release does not have time to check this anymore. There was also a guy that said that he had all the source code ready to compile and try to get it to work also.
For myself I know how to do this but I don't have time to make it.

Re: android support
So, is this a dead effort? Anyone know the OP or have an idea if a port ever happened?

Re: android support
Well, if by "OP" you mean the original poster, he is not porting anything. A guy named Kyle Poole did the Ipod port and stated that he is working on an Android one.
Re: android support
indeed, i'm curious what approach the guys who claimed to be porting Wesnoth to Android use. Android is a derived from Linux and it has a NDK that allow running C/C++ so there is no need to use Java in the porting. (basically, port to Androids using the Java SDK is somehow a complete rewrite rather than porting)tyler wrote:I don't know Java very well, so I'm not much help. Re: android support
If anyone is porting Wesnoth for Android, make a new thread about it and open a paypal account so I can donate to you for your hard work! I clearly am not the only one wanting to see Wesnoth on Android devices, just need someone to port it for us.
Re: android support
Anyone working on this still?
