The septentrional tower 0.9.9 NOW! (for BfW 1.8)

Post by perseo »

First of all, the version is 0.9.0. but the campaign is finished. Then:

I open this threat for my new and first (and I hope It wont be the last). The campaign has 11 scenarios and It's more or less balanced. You play with loyalists but you'll get the help of mages, peasants, woodsmans, poachers and thugs.
If you play it please answer this questions:
1- Do you think the campaign is porpertly balanced?
2- Do you think that the grammar and vocabularie is good? (I'm not englsih so I'm not sure).
3- Did the camapign make any bug?
4- have you got any suggestion?

Future changes that I'm working on:
Spoiler:
Another spoiler with a scenario sinopsis:
Spoiler:
I promise that I'll read carefully your posts and improve the campaign all I can. Thanks for your time.

I've changed the version to 0.9.0. for possible bugs but the campaign is finished. I've changed the _main.cfg and I'll work the next weekend in the language part.

Hi

I play this campaign with Wesnoth 1.8.5 and loading the scenario "Sangre fria" leads to crash the game (runtime error).
The stderr.txt file is empty. You can have a look to the attachments :
- runetime error
- savegame "Sangre fria"

I tried to uninstall/reinstall Wesnoth (1.8.5), without results (1.9.4 version can't load the file either).

Yes It was a problem That I had when I tried to play my campaign in windows .I dont know why bacause in ubuntu it works right. I'll investigate of course but I dont know what happens.

One thing, In my .gz file says: version=1.8.0 ; in your It says: version=1.8.5 Can it give some problems?

Another more thing: I've played the scenario from the begging to the end in my computer and It didn't give me problems (ubuntu).
I post my .gz file if its helps you. I'll work on it this weekend because I haven't windows in my house and I must ask a friend for borrow his computer. Thanks for the report!

I've played it fast so it isn't a good example about how to do it.

If you can nail down the cause of the crash report that a gna pls
http://gna.org/bugs/?group=wesnoth
wml should never be able to crash wesnoth.
Even better if you can reproduce in 1.9.4.

Hi,

like Mikeul, I experienced the same problem of crash loading the scenario "Sangre fria".
I was playing with Wesnoth 1.8.5 on a mac with OS 10.5.8. The crash report state:
Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT). So the problem is not just in Windows...
If helpful I could send you the detailed crash report.

so far, an interesting campaign...

I'm becoming mad because I don't know how to solve it without windows S.O. But I repeat that I haven't got any problem in ubuntu so I cant work on it. Another thing, I think It's strange because add-ons don't use to crash the complete program. Please: Can you try my sangre fria.gz file and post what happens?. This weekend I'll work on it.
Otherwise: I enjoy reading you find it interesting. :D
Another thing: Anonymisus: I haven't understand what are you saying: You want me to make a version for wesnoth 1.9.4 ?

Ideally yes - a bit of wml that crashes 1.9.4, since 1.8 is hardly worked on anymore.

I understand you, you're saying that now anyone works fixing bugs in 1.8. OK. But I don't know where I must search for the "translation" from 1.8 to 1.9 Can you help me?

I've fixed some minor bugs in all the scenarios and maybe the 3rd one ("Sangre fria") will work propertly now. The new version is in the add-on server.

I have updated to version 0.9.1. Didnt' played yet, but the scenario previously saved in version 0.9
either 02 El bosque susurrante or 03 Sange fria do not load. But, at least, no crash...
I've try to open the file you uploaded for 03 Sangre fria, but get the same error message. I cannot
open the scenario, but Wesnoth do not crash.

Mmmm I'm very sorry but you have to replay the first scenarios. I've been changing some things in the _main file and now the saves are called LGS not LGA so you can't open it. But don't worry when I come from the clarinet exam that I have htis afternoon I'll play it again and I'll upload the saves. Thanks for your time.

Edited: Is your problem that: "unknown scenario"?

Edited again: Here is the save of el bosque susurrante.

After working again in this campaign (I want to finish it before start the next one) I have a problem: It works right in ubuntu form the beginning to the end but I don't sure about It works in windows too. Can anyone who has a bit of free time test it?
PD: I haven't windows at home and my father doesn't want to install it because he doesn't agree with non-free software so I can't test it.

Hi

I downloaded the latest version and starded again the whole campaign. Still the "runtime error" in Sangre Fria, Wesnoth 1.8.5 and Windows XP.
