Dang. It's too bad you can't animate. I'd love to see what the Fleshlord would look like with full anims. (Standing anim, especially... )

I think you could make a lot of money going into a Side-Scrolling or RPG business...

Dang, Zero, those are some gorgeous sprites! :D I especially like the Fleshlord. Great stuff. And I love the effects for the fire and (ice?) wands on that one sprite.

These are really awesome, but is it just me or is the head of the fleshlord lit from the top right and everything else from the top left?

HOLY CRAP

When you do digital painting

THE PROGRAM ANTIALIASES FOR YOU

I had not realized how much of a boon this was until I tried it out.

And thus ends my first foray into the world of digital painting.

Giant canvases + brushes? It won't be long before you start doing portraits. :P You're already lightyears ahead of me in digital painting.

I had the exact opposite reaction when I started spriting. :P

Four hours in the MSPA Private Room on iScribble yielded this. Everyone was watching the process and it was quite cool to have others talk about art as we were drawing. This is basically my second attempt at digital painting to date and my first completed thing. Of course, it's cartoony because I mostly used my pixelart skills- I'll have to see about translating my style a little towards realism.

I LOVE NOT HAVING TO GIVE A CARP ABOUT ANTIALIASING

I AM SO FREE

I'm finally admitting that this will be a very long (if not permanent) Wesbreak. Thank y'all for the great times, and may Wesnoth rise to become one of the most popular games on the planet.

You seem to be under the impression I am leaving something for something else >.>

Any impression I may have given of me forgoing pixelart is, I assure you, accidental.

:P

EDIT: Okay, I read your sig, and it turns out I was confused in my comprehension! Whoops.

I don't think I need to bother with fond farewell. I know you'll come back.

Haha, no, you just seem to ignore signatures :P . I'm the one that'll be leaving in a day or so.

Indeed, you are. Any specific reason?

btw about the purpledragon, intuitively i would expect the lines where its body curves to be parallel, but they are spreading in the distance.

the reason is probably that people feel more comfortable using top-down view of the surface locally, and the result is resembling something like this cartography example.

to me it looks like taking the soft tissue off the bones and putting it *splat* on the canvas (and maybe squeezing it a little bit), stretching the non-visible side of the creature that is against the canvas, and distorting the visible side.
i see many people doing this here in their drawings, but i think it might be a problem.
