HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2011 and resolutions!

Post by cookie »

Heya, it's cookie here. I'd like to say HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone from the futuristic part of Australia!
Australia - Well Sydney and east coast Australia have entered the new year.
Which is 2011 if you guys don't remember! :D
After a long 3 hours partying on heels, drinking a moderate amount, being observed to not get wasted and finishing with a private firework show, my feet kills and I'm sweaty but it doesn't matter cause its 2011 and I had fun. ~

I wish everyone the best for 2011 and hope you had fun like I did.
Heres the question: Whats you're new years resolution?
Mine is to get rid of bad habits, study well and to learn a bit of coding!

HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS!
COOKIE OUT! ~
Sorry if my speech is badly presented... Kinda drunk a bit... 8D <--- ELMO!
Bye says the cookie.

In 2010 I resolved not to make any resolutions in 2011.

It's not the New Year yet, but my resolution would be: Practice 6-8 hours a day instead of my usual 3-5, and only take a break a day every two weeks, instead of once a week. With a good routine, it's do-able. :)

 I find it hard to practice for 1 hour every day, I couldn't possibly manage 3-5, let alone 6-8. I assume you're a professional?

My New Year's resolutions:

1. Get better at pixel art, and art in general
2. Begin to learn how to code in something other than WML and basic HTML (probably Lua, since it's used for a lot of scripting languages)
3. Finish UitS
4. Get my B ranking in foil fencing
5. Clean up my hard drive (no mean task)

Get a job.
Get back into working on Wesnoth.
Keep up weight loss and fitness improvement.
Keep up practice on artwork.
Get a job.

Yeah, unemployment sucks, as does the horrible economy. Being a new entrant into the employment market is next to impossible these days.

Stay alive.
Learn Lua and potentially some basic C++ knowledge.
Contribute something that's actually useful for Wesnoth.

If I actually effectively do what I've written above (not likely), then I might try a hand at pixel art.

Happy New Year! :D

As for "New Year's" resolutions, well...Don't really have any. Stuff I want/need to do this year, yes, but not sure if that really counts. So...anyway.

I hope I shall know and serve God more than any other year before. Yet, I hope it will be nothing compared to future years.
God bless,
Crushmaster.

I don't really make resolutions for the same reason I barely ever make promises -- I've got to be 100% sure I'm going to follow through with them, and the future is awfully unpredictable by nature. Thus, I have a bunch of "I plan on..." and "hopefully I'll be able to..." things.

Let's see... this year I'm going to get my degree :eng: , and I'm looking into joining the Peace Corps soon after graduation, so I need to finish anything I'm working on before then (otherwise it's going to wait a couple years). I want to hurry up and finish my Glest mod I'm working on, and expand my fluency in Spanish. I've also been trying to learn a lot of new recipes lately, so hopefully I'll be able to keep that up, as eating the same few things over and over is rather dull.

Maybe a dumb question, but... practice what?

That was clever.
Spoiler:
It's spelled "definitely", not "definately". "Defiantly" is a different word entirely.

My resolutions:

• Get better at pixel art.
• Get on top of my homework from the beginning.
• Start painting more often.
• Start attempting to draw people.
My spritework can be seen here.

My New Year's Resolutions Project List:
1. Fix up the website. The colors look great on some computers and horrible on others. I may need some help in that regard.

2. Build a backup, solar-powered battery supply for my iPod Touch. I love my relatively new iPod. It replaces my too small iPod Nano and my Palm Tungsten T2, lets me check my email and favorite websites on the go, and I have just discovered the joy of watching “Top Gear” on it. Problem is, the battery lasts maybe a day or two before it needs to be recharged.

3. Send out resumes. It is time to be looking for a job.

4. Talk to someone who actually knows what it is like to be an engineer in the United States Air Force. I’m giving this particular career choice a serious amount of thought.

5. Finish the amplifier before the end of the school year. That includes revising the PCB, fabricating a cabinet, and figuring out why it keeps blowing fuses.

6. Do something neat with MATLab and an Arduino as part of an independent study.

7. Get rid of the leftover ArduinoBoy printed circuit boards.

8. With any luck, get myself published on the MAKE Magazine blog.

9. Get into a routine of posting at least once a month, or better yet twice a month.

10. Exercise more. Yes, a very common New Year’s resolution, but I could really use some exercise, especially if I go through with the Air Force job. Plus I wanted the list to be at least 10 items long.
