Fantastic Mr Fox.

It was quite loosely based on one of my favorite children's stories, but I (would normally nitpick) loved every second of it. It was very much in the spirit of wild crazy fighting against authority that makes kids and me love his books.

My favorite part was where he gives the wolf the black-power salute.
I'm off to buy a bandit-hat.

Beowulf, at least when I watch it... under the influence (be it alcohol or a good deal of nicotine. Got a habit for bad habits through military ). Even better with a bunch of people of the uglier sex. Long live testosterone.

Lord of the Rings or The Matrix, can't decide. The Matrix had some scenes that didn't appeal to me that much or were too repetitive, but I love the general idea; Lord of the Rings was a great film, but I still prefer the books.
Inception was good, but had numerous flaws so I won't count it as a favourite.

What flaws? Are your sure they were flaws in the movie, as opposed to your understanding (no offense)?

I agree with Maiklas. Inception is one of the few movies I consider flawless, though I was a bit confused about the ending. (See below, spoiler warning) But I certainly don't think that was due to any flaw in the movie.

I couldn't figure out how Cobb and their leader (I forget his name) made it out of limbo.

While I would like to be able to say that inception was flawless, but that simply isn't the case. It was still a great move though...

... the whole movie was a dream. That's because Mal's suicide scene has huge blunders. Mal not only tries but succeeds in framing Cobb for her murder by trashing the hotel room and then jumping from across the street. She even drops straight down, as I recall. The police never would have bought that in the real world. Therefore, it was a dream world.

Anything can happen in a dream. It doesn't even need to be a dream that Mal architected. At the end of the film, you have these nested dream worlds collapsing like a house of cards, leaving you with reality, but when you realize there are nasty discrepancies at that layer, then it too collapses and so does the whole film. All the premises you bought into during the movie aren't necessarily real even within the context of the film. The film incepted in you the concept of inception. That was the real inception.

This makes Cybermouse's noted discrepancy irrelevant. So are those in the blog. Any objection you could possibly raise is null and void.

...after all, the spinning top at the very end was never shown to fall over, though it did wobble a bit just before the credits. All things considered, that the entire movie was a dream makes the most sense to me now.

Yeah, my favorite movie atm is probably Inception. I also love LotR, Star Wars and the Matrix.
