If you lose against the AI in a balanced MP-style match on a regular basis, you are not good at this game. There's a reason the odds are HORRIBLY stacked against you in SP campaigns. There's a reason the 3 rating is 'unable to beat human players'. Sorry to burst your bubble

I never play play MP, but I can beat AI players easily so I'll rate myself 5-5,5.

This could be true! But did you ever win? The only qualifier for a ten is that he hasn't lost. I think I saw something about this once in some anime once. "The only way to guarantee you'll never lose is to never play." Forgot which one though, card game based but not Yugioh... Based off of MTG if I recall correctly, actually. The show was a bit of a hokey parody but otherwisecmonyiman wrote:10 (never lost in wesnoth)
In other words, the people who're best at Wesnoth are those who don't even know about it! Okay, that's in part a lie, there's a bit of a saying on the M.P. server that also applies. "Observers never lose."
Edit: Mixed up posts. Fix'd

Ehh . . . I think I've played 4 MP games (without counting the ones where I had to quit a couple turns in because of OOS errors) since I started, so I don't know if I know enough to really rate myself. I know that I have improved a lot since I started, though, and considering that I have won most of the MP matches that I played (I think - didn't keep the replays) I'd say about a 6/7 - I'd have to play against someone I knew was a veteran to be sure though, because for all I know every single match I've played has been against a n00b who's never played before.

If you're gonna go there, then lets be objective:thespaceinvader wrote:Somewhere between 5 and 6. 7 on a good day, with the wind behind me. I find it quite hilarious to read some of the peoples' self-ratings in this thread. Dunning-Kruger effect ftw.

When I play I have no clue what to do most of the time. The rest of the time kinda I know what to do and fail horribly anyway. Very occasionally, out of sheer luck and with help of RNG, I manage to put up a good enough fight to survive the first 8 turns.
I would compare playing Wesnoth MP with rolling a dice and trying to get a six. Not because the randomness in Wesnoth, but because of the randomness in my performance.

You got lucky to play againist noobs only or you got to lucky. Or you don't want to tell us you have lost atleast oncecmonyiman wrote:10 (never lost in wesnoth)
Oh nice ... I beated the AI with 125 of gold starting gold and +1 base income and I had only 75 starting gold and -1 base income. And I rate myself 8-9PeterPorty wrote:10, because I once beat the AI and it had 25 more gold than me!!!
I must say you: you must compare you againist other humans players and not againist the AI. You don't know how many persons are better than you and only because you beat an AI with more gold than you that does not proves anything.
Edit: I played a 50 gold (me) vs 100 gold AI in Hamlets and I won. I put me loyalist and I put to AI random and it were undead.
