Here's my quickly done poem, "The Troll".
The Troll saw some human soldiers
And the Troll said "whut".
The Troll was told to throw boulders
(At them.)
And the Troll said "ug".
The Troll was told to bash thin skins
And the Troll said "uhh".
And then the humans got a catapult
Big rocks and Greek fire did they pelt
And the Troll fell over.
(I know it's not very good.)
"What do you mean, "a dwarvish dragonguard with marksman is overpowered"?"

Is this supposed to rhyme?

Not all poems have to rhyme. Really in the end it's just subjective; you like the poem or you don't. I see no reason to get annoyed there, if you don't like it write better or something. I didn't like it just becuause I felt sorry for the poor Troll. I mean he was just doing what he was supposed to do, come on, no reason to throw greek fire on him! But then I couldn't write better myslef so I kind of kept my opinion to myself. Anyway, there could be something we're missing, a clever reference to trolling and flaming online?
...apparenly we can't go with it or something.

If that were the allegory, the fire would just make him bigger and stronger.

Well, here's my poem, inspired by the up-and-coming Era of Magic campaign.
I wrote:In these stones
Horizons will sing
Forever more
About those
Who risked their lives
And went to lands most barren
To desolate desert-land
Into the nomad sands
Past the seas
In ships twelve
Past highest ranges...
(No, the lines don't rhyme. It's on purpose.)

Ok, now I feel like I need to write a poem about a Troll just so I don't look like a <female hygine product>. It's not at all good. Well, Reepurr at least people won't flame yours anymore.

Hall of the Troll Lord

him Troll of mountains
Troll of Trolls
that Troll they called him lord
in the mountains he worked to build
a great and mighty hall
to keep in it himself
and all the treasure that he would hoard

that Troll he took great boulders
and up he piled them high
he built his walls of stone
up to the clouds in the sky
he labored all alone
to make his walls
tall and wide

against the arrows of the Elves
against the spears of men
against the wrath of other Trolls
against the fires of Orcs
Until the hammers of the Dwarves
none could breach the Troll's strong walls
none could break into his hall

and in his hall they sought to find
his gold, his gems, his store of wine
but all they found there in his home
were dry and hungry old Troll bones
for Troll of Trolls that they called lord
had built so strong his mighty walls
but he forgot to make a door
...apparenly we can't go with it or something.
