Re: Majors Art
That armour looks hellish uncomfortable, especially the second guy's.

Re: Majors Art
It seems uncomfortable indeed, mainly because it doesn't fit him. Too long.

Re: Majors Art
Pretty much. It looks like it would constantly be poking him in the belly, both of them do. And the right-hand one also has a crotch guard that looks like it would drag on the floor if he crouched down even a bit.Major wrote:Because it's sharp?

Re: Majors Art
I'd dare to say that the armor pieces on his torso seem to be horribly tight and stiff, making him look more like a human meat-sauce can instead of a soldier suited for battle.

Re: Majors Art
On a positive note, the Titan looks great.

Which one are you talking about?I'd dare to say that the armor pieces on his torso seem to be horribly tight and stiff, making him look more like a human meat-sauce can instead of a soldier suited for battle.
Thanks. On a positive note, the Titan looks great.
Edit: Another soldier.

Re: Majors Art
It has a few flaws, but overall it looks pretty good to me.
Details: what's up with the top of its head? I just can;t read what's supposed to be going on.
The arms seem quite short for human proportions. There also doesn;t seem to be much room for hips. Finally, the legs seem to be very different in thickness.
Overall, the line work is very jaggy - you need to use a softer-edged tool.

Re: Majors Art
Criticism:
The left arm seems oddly rotated. I think that position would look good if the figure were hunched over, but it's not. The top of the head seems to be drawn from a different angel to the rest of the figure. And finally on a practical note, I'm taking it that's a helmet, if so, you kind of don't want such large eye holes in it, othewise why not just have an open helmet?
Non-criticism:
I love the style of the armor and weapons. It reminds me of EVILEST's work to which I am quite partial, but still original. Also, the character radiates agression and menace. Suggestion: you do sprites really well, why not do a sprite of the guy first and work from that to the portrait, that way if your portrait doesn't turn out too well (in this case it seems that my concern will be unnecesarry) you still have a great sprite.

...apparenly we can't go with it or something.
Re: Majors Art
Another random creation for general dissection, am I doing anything glaringly wrong?
