@Monroid No, the Hero only has a spear attack because it's following the line of the Rouser. IIRC Rouser has a 7-3 pierce, and the Hero has a 9-3 pierce. Adding a sword wouldn't really make sense.
@artisticdude Start the campaign. He's there in the beginning. IIRC He has a 7-2 staff melee and 14-2 curse (cold) ranged. Level 2, heals +4 and cures. He's the only healer you can get.

Hmm... well, I still think he could use a major make over, but it's just me...

Oh, and to make him more "goblin-ish", would you consider adding that "mask and helmet" thing they use? I think all the goblins have that

EDIT: Alright, I'll remove the sword... :(

But maybe I can add a drum or something, what do you say? But he would need a different name because he wouldn't look too much like a hero and more like... Warcrier? Battlestarter? I don't know, I'm sucky at names :P (but only if you agree, of course)

Oh, dang, I knew I should have looked at your campaign before I posted... I thought he hadn't been added yet (it's been a while since I last played your campaign). Sorry. I'll resize the raider a bit to make him look more like a level 1 instead of a level 0 with armor on.

@Monroid Well, honestly, 'Hero' was just sort of a placeholder name and it just stuck. I'm open to new ideas though :)
@artisticdude Cool. Btw, I'll be releasing a beta-version soon, so watch your pm's ;)

You could work on a nose for him, or put that mask all the goblins use... but it's looking pretty good! :)

Noses are very difficult to do at pixel scale, so that might be stretching my abilities a bit.

I think I'll call this finished, unless e_s has any problems with it.

He looks a little like a lvl 1 unit now. Maybe a few pixels taller? Or at least the staff? Other than that, looks MUCH better than the original.

Hmm... I don't know if this will help, but try to make the face more like this (keep the mouth if you want)

Mmm... I tried it (and several other possibilities), but the angle of his face defies all attempts I make. Within a space of two pixels, if I put both pixels to one side his nose looks like it's bent to his right, and if I put on pixel on each side it makes it look as though his nose is long and/or bend to his left. :|

Oh well, thanks anyway. :)

EDIT: I just noticed that the skull on the end of his staff looks a lot like the lich's, but for the record I made it 100% from scratch. :P

Alright, I removed the sword, added the drum... his idle animation will be a drum beat, since the leadership animation macro can only stand 2 frames :(

But still with the skull dilema... does it stay, or does it go?

EDIT: Ok, heheh, the skull goes, and here is my version of the Bladesman (his hand might be a little awkward, I'll fix it and make the attack animations)

Although it is in no way my decision, I would say without. Having followed the thread I know what the thing is supposed to be on his head, but it is hard to read right now. It sort of looks like a chicken is roosting on his head.*

I think the second one looks great, though.

*[Off-topic] Although that seems to be what Final Fantasy 13 decided to do with that Chocobo in the guys hair. Strange. [/Off-topic]

@artisticdude - I think your sprite looks great, too. You have made a lot of progress the last few months. Of course, only the OP can tell if you if it is good enough for him.

@artisticdude Looks great! Coming in the next release.
@Monroid Okay. The sprite on the right will be the Bladesman, and the one on the left will be the Hero. Could you attach the pngs? in 72x72.

All of you, the stuff is looking great!
