Valkier, I can't wait to see the ghoul completed... The undead portraits are some of my favorite in the game!

About the Bloodborn, I suppose it's probably something to do with the fact that his face turned out strangely artificial looking. I'm not really sure if it's a good or bad thing - the sprite for the Bloodborn has no visible face!

And... here's something a little more lighthearted. Very much WIP.

If you're going to make portraits for all the EoM factions, i'd steer clear of the Therians if i were you. Their concept is a little...confused right now.

Awesome vampire portraits btw, i really like what you've done with the blade dancer. I might have to take a crack at giving it's sprite that awesome hat sometime soon.

I'm also interested in what you're going to make of the sire line. Will be watching this thread.

Might I suggest that if you want to do mainline, there are some mainline campaigns whose portraits are in need of updating to the newer style. That would perhaps be the best way to go.

As for era of Myths, there are a few campaigns based on this era, including a vampire one, so your portraits would get used. It's great to see those factions getting portraits.

I'm not sure if I'll get around to making portraits for all the factions of EoM, but I'll try to cover as much as possible. I haven't thought of anything regarding the Therians so far - my interests at the moment are Vampires and Devlings. Maybe I'll get around to doing some Celestials or Windsong.

Is there a list for mainline campaigns most in need of updated artwork? I'd also like to make sure that I wouldn't be doing something that another artist is already hard at work on. I searched around for EoM campaigns - found Count Kromire and The War of the Dragon. I'll eventually get around to trying them out!

And... update on the Nailers, and a Vampire Noble WIP.

At least Liberty, Sceptre of Fire, Two Brothers and The South Guard fit that bill.

Some work was done on Two brothers, but was never completed. The other three have nothing, so far as I know.

Another route you could go is contributing portraits for the kaliphate. For now it's just an add on faction, but it's possible that this faction might eventually get to mainline if the art standards can be brought into line. A lot of work has gone into bring the sprite up to mainline standard and that effort is nearly complete for the base frames, although the animations remain. You can see that effort here.

Anyhow, they will need portraits as well, up to mainline specifications. The thing to understand, though, is that there is no guarantee these will ever make mainline, but it is possible. At the very least, the faction will get some use.

Devlings, Windsong and Vampires are mostly finished. (some missing sprites, but the ones that exist are good)
Elementals, Therians and Wargs have sprites in various styles of various qualities, which may be replaced in the future. You should probably steer clear of these.

I'll see if I can get these portraits into EoM. Under which name do you want to be credited?

Just a note: I am and have been still around but I am no longer maintaining EoM. I will however be very happy to see these used in my campaign. Keep up the good work.

NB regarding Khalifate, Valkier has expressed interest in doing the portraits, and I wouldn't mind attending to some of them myself. But I'm certain the three of us could share if you're interested, we'd really appreciate having another skilled portrait artist on board for mainline =)

Your portrait style is amazing and it really fits Wesnoth well. I love the way you blend the colors together to create the looks of the vampires. It is very impressive. Count Kromire is one of my favorite campaigns, and it will be nice to see it with portraits.

Noble's sword has picked up some jaggies during scaling, you could stand to smooth them out - otherwise, it looks wicked =)

It looks awesome. Please be careful with the use of perspective. You are looking at the noble from below. Strong perspective in the portraits makes problems. You can not fix it easily and I have seen otherwise good art rejected for that. So if you look up to a unit it should be really huge. You could technically look down at tiny units like develings. The Noble should be regular size. The way you cropped I would give him a hight of 600.

About the nailers: I would like them not beeing cropped at all. No half heads and all feets. I would recommend 500x500. Cropping can be done later, for totally incomprehensible reasons, as long as the art is complete.

So please be carefull with perspective and cropping for future work. EOM will probably take whatever you do. Be warned, the critic on mainline art, even for campaigns, even if it is a huge improvement, can be harsh. Keep up the good work. I like your choice of EOM. Count Kromire is a very profesional campaign with no art.

If you want to try pixelart: I would like to point you to ANO. There is a faction called Akladians. They have 18 sprites. All pretty bad. The campaign is available and gets maintained. The Akladian are some super warrior human-orc half-breads with terrific close range fighting skills, unmatchable armor and nothing else. The story is well designed and for mature people.

I am just a by-standing non-artist and you can disregard everything I just wrote, if it keeps you happy.
