If the helm doesn't make it into the Mainline, then i'd like to offer it to someone to use. (I was thinking it would be good in an RPG add-on or something).

Whoa. Dang, you're making your move for mainline FAST. D: I feel so old, all the newer members are already on their way to art contribs and I'm still not really doing much.

Great helm looks a bit... Wrong to me. Like there's a shadow obscuring the far side of it so effectively that nothing of it can be seen. Maybe it's just me.

All roads do not, necessarily, lead to mainline, especially as the entry requirements get progressively higher, and progressively more of the interesting, highly creative work gets done.

You're far more valuable right where you are, zero, though that's not to say we couldn't find work for you if you were willing to turn your hand to it ;)

Except as soon as Dead Water makes it into mainline, you will be getting a shiny blue name with your work on the sprites there. :)

Oop, yeah, I'd forgotten about that. Don't let me do so when the time actually comes...

You are far above and beyond many of the newer members, including myself. Your work on Dead Water is definitely mainline-worthy in my judgement. I was just wondering, where would a helmet attack icon fit in the game? Would it actually be used, or would it just be there for UMC authors?

That's more or less what I need to clear up, actually - the quality's fine, it's just whether we can put these in as a resource rather than something we actually use - that's the only issue I have, and I'll clear it up asap.

The newest attack icon. (though not really an attack icon)

Hm, it's a little unclear what they are... first moment I saw them, before seeing the title, I thought they were giant incisor teeth or something... :hmm:

That's probably because you immediately saw the syllable "Vam" and associated that with Vampires, which further led to associations of incisors. People have a funny way of reading subliminal messages from a quick passover. I don't blame you, I thought the same thing at first.

Any critique other than the name?

Where's the light coming from? I can't imagine a pair of vambraces reflecting light like that, even if they were pointed straight forward, and the light was coming from the viewer.

They look pretty solid other than light source though.

I'd probably go for a different angle, to be honest - it's very difficult to read them dead-straight on.

Thanks guys! :D I'll draw another some time soon. I've got a fever of 101.8 so I don't feel very confident in drawing something 'well' at the moment. Hopefully next week...
