Re: Kalifa facelift
If you remove the background, it could be useful.Aura wrote:I had a shot at editing a mock-up Ghazi from it's Lv 1 (I think the axe head came from mainline somewhere, but the rest is custom). It might be of use for someone to base the real one on. I'll probably go back and detail the shield a little more and add a custom weapon.

Since I got bottom pagedthespaceinvader wrote:Yeah, he needs a near-complete rework of the whole mid section. Watch this space, I'll do it after the weekend.
EDIT: Bam. MUCH more pleased with this, particularly the new mace - though I was forced to change the horse colour to make it visible.
Also, bear with me, I'll get to the Ghazi eventually - if I do use that one to any extent, I can remove the background myself

Re: Kalifa facelift
I like the new mace, it works much better in that position. The only thing I'm wondering about is his left shoulder, it's pointy but I can't figure out what it is. :/

Re: Kalifa facelift
Is there any chance you could give me a unit to work on and a brief for the changes you want ? I would like to contribute
Re: Kalifa facelift
I started an animation for the Ahadath, but somehow, something seems wrong with the arm.

Block out your animation first. You'll be able to iron out these sorts of problems before you've perfected every frame.

Well, that and the fact that shoulders just don't bend that way easily...

Re: Kalifa facelift
This is a basically final revision of the ghulam al rami - I'm pretty happy with this one. The mace looks a lot better against darker backgrounds.

Indeed, already done for you, all you need to do is shade it in.thespaceinvader wrote:Block out your animation first. You'll be able to iron out these sorts of problems before you've perfected every frame.
Re: Kalifa facelift
Wow, ok. But is the frame useful? Else I would start over without it.

Re: Kalifa facelift
You don't start with a frame and try to fit it later. You should start with a plan for the animation, a sequence of frames with simple shapes or blocks, and the polish them to "frames".LightFighter wrote:Wow, ok. But is the frame useful? Else I would start over without it.
If you start with just editing only a part it will show... badly.
This is the right way even if I sometimes don't do it fully .

Re: Kalifa facelift
Basically final frame for the life guard.
Biiig unit this chap. Finding the happy medium between him and the ghulam may be interesting. but fun. The helm plume is based on a horse guard's.
