I prefer Hund, personally. Fenris is overdone in almost every norse fantasy series ever.

I think I said what I liked, but I don't remember, so: I like Hund and Nord, not sure which I like more. Fenris I've seen multiple times around the forums, and although I like the way it sounds, and I think an "F" name would be good for them, I don't think that that one in particular should be used. But that's just me.

what about lycans or lycaons? it's the last part of the scientific name of the timber wolf. Between nord and hund, I prefer Hund.

You also have to think in those nordic and german translators... the unit will be caled just "dog"?.

No lycan or fenris for me. Both of those terms are overused in like every fantasy story ever with any tiny connection to norse mythology.

do you have any suggestions then? fenris/lycan may be overused, but they are overused because a lot of ppl think they sound cool.

Pentarctagon was talking with me about the new faction and the "fenris" suggestion made me think of something. Why not "Wolfbrood"? (Taken from Fenris Wolfbrood in Age of Mythology). It's simple and not overused (as far as I know).

Although that would be a good suggestion, a problem is that it wouldn't fit in with the rest of the era.

Nordhund sounds good, it's not as short as I had liked, but it's still good. As for the other languages. We can't please everyone lol. If someone came up with a name that was purely fictional, and yet still fit and sounded good, I'm sure we'd use it. But I personally don't have that great of a creative mind, especially when it comes to names, so other languages is basically all I have to go from.

the thing about nordhund (besides the translation thing) is that its just kinda clunky to say - the two d's at the end make it like pronouncing two words in one. i also dont really see how its that different than the other faction names except that it gives the player an idea what the faction is about...

Well, that's because that's exactly what you're doing. We could try variations (Nordhund, Hunord, Nohurd, Hordun, or some such) but as of yet, there really haven't been that great choices.

Welkin, Brungar, and wolfbrood. It doesn't really go, but that's just my opinion.
