The new sword color looks great! This will probably be a level 3 unit.
I agree about tc-ing the cape though.
Can't wait to see what else you've got in store!

I did a quick lvl 1 sprite, is this going in the right direction? Tcing the cloak and pushing a couple more images through PSE...

Slightly off balance, but otherwise nice. Moving the top half to our left by maybe 2 pixels (above the belt) shoudl fix that.

And don't think I don't know where you got those feet :P

I make no effort to hide it. :)
Anyway, I shifted his upper body (above the belt) to the left a bit. Better?
EDIT: Here's the TCed cloak. I'm not really sure whether or not the gloves work, every time I look at the sprite I change my mind about it.

Nice work on the corsair. Perhaps add a touch more TC? Also, his sword looks wooden - great if it's intentional, problematic if it's not.

The other guy: I have trouble reading his gloves - try it without TC on them.

Definitely problematic. :( Is this any better?

Better. I think the problem is that, since it's metal, the contrast should be greater and along a line. Like so: (quick edit)

Cool, thanks! :) Here I've colored the gloves grey and fixed up the armor a bit on the corsair lord.

Both units look great!

I'm thinking for the evolution tree (tentative name)

Lvl 1: Guardsman (The newer unit)
---------------------------------------------
Lvl 2: Blader | Lvl 2: Infiltrator (More balanced, holds a smaller sword, but also a pistol)
---------------------------------------------
Lvl 3: Heavy Blader (The Older Unit) | Lvl 3: Striker (???)

I'm so excited! Your work is awesome!

Yes it is (albeit a slang one) however, i doesn't means someone who uses a blade, it means someone who rides inline skates. So still not wildly appropriate. How about bladesman?

For anyone who hasn't seen my sprites in my thread, here are a few. The crusader one I recently updated. His shadow is too dark. And his legs are a little too grainy. Other than that, I think he is almost done. BTW, this will probably be an attack animation. The centaur has a really weird beard. I'll probably remove that. Welcome critique!

TCed the turban on the corsair and, ahem, <.< >.> got rid of some unnecessary pixels in the fork of his legs.

The armored centaur.

The human torso is too high and to the left. giving a weird impression. Look at the bottom pink ¿saddle?, there is were I feel the human torso should be placed (and were I would place it)

The glaiveer: I like the feeling of the unit, it reminds me a bit of a samurai (with the armor color and the weapon). I would suggest to ditch the shield and use the glaive two handed (aka a naginata) since that was a yojimbo (bodyguard) weapon.

This one is the one I like most from all sprites on that post.

Commander: Use shades of grey instead of pure black, and note that its difficult to read the sprite properly.

Blademaster defend: having the weapon perfectly straight while blocking requires way too much skill. I didn't see the base frame, but I recomend to tap/incline the sword angle.

if there are more frames, I would like to see the Glaiveer. Since its the one that looks best!

I think I liked the turban more when it was non-tced. However, both units look done for the most part :D

Telaron, your sprites are great! Read the steam era description thread in the factions and eras forum to get a sense of the flavor of the era. Perhaps you could change some of your sprites to match it. The humans wear rusty brown armor, and use swords and rifles.
