Well...

Balancing can always be tweaked
Descriptions can be made, or updated
Hammer out a good name for the faction, several have been mentioned already
Also the names to the units in the Brungar as well as some of the canine horde faction need to be redone (you never put in those rename suggestions which are lost somewhere in this thread)
Figure out if the unit tree is completed or not.

i haven't been able to do any balannce teseting the last week due to the holidays and everything, but i will try and update the canine horde as a whole again in the next couple of days.

and now back to the frenetic shaman. it is still an undead killing machine (shaman spam have beat undead everytime on every map i have tried), so here is a list of changes that i am leaning towards making in an attempt to negate that problem
  • 1. pierce attack from 6-2 to 4-2 - basically weakening the berserker attack a bit.
    2. hp from 26 to 20 - just to plain make it easier to kill. its 11 gold, about most lvl 0's.
    3. magical attack from 4-4 to 5-3 - reducing the number of strikes so that the undead's arcane weakness doesn't get exploited quite as much. also, 7.5 rounds down to 7 damage.
    4. added -10% pierce resistance - giving the undead a potential counter (skeleton archer) to the shaman since they can't really use adepts with the shaman's berserker + 20% arcane/cold resistance.
    5. increase cost to 12 (only if the above methods don't work).

Ah, new faction. Sweet. Send me a PM if you need the flavor text and fluff on some unit.

Well, Turuk has some descriptions written already, once he gives me/us what he's got I'll send you a PM with all the info that we have.

[EDIT] I'll send you the faction description though and you can try to spice that up if you want.

should we change the apothecary blowdart attack to a herbal fumes attack?
for me, thats enough already. we should not change it because i like this weapon. we can use any other weapons but this is the best for attacking to a herbal fumes.

Turuk is yet to get back to me and all that Xandria has given me is a make up of the faction description. Which isn't quite finished yet. So at the moment, we may have descriptions, but none but the authors have seen them.

just randomly noticed something: they live in the arctic, so the bow wouldn't be a very common weapon, considering most wood would be scarce and used for fuel. Maybe they could use slings instead? or another weapon, in case that would make them too strong against undead and too weak against drakes. Maybe throwing knives, since they can be made out of bone. Alternatively we could just say that they use yak horns to build the bows and bone arrow shafts rather than wooden ones.

I don't think finding wood is a problem..there are plenty of trees in like canada and stuff (I think) and that's basically as north as they are.

Also, someone (I forgot who) gave a suggestion for the name of the canine horde: "The Hund" or something like that, it's in the art thread. I like it, what about you guys? My vote is either "Nord" or "Hund".

And sure Huston, I'll send the latest one I have in a sec.

meh, dont like hund not so much. probably just because i took german and it reads more like 'the dog' to me that what it would sound like to someone else though. maybe something like nordwolfen (put the twin dot things over the second 'o', dont know if/how i can do those :hmm: )? still german, but i think it sounds a little cooler.

I liked Hund 'cause it sounded kinda like hun which lol i always liked the huns. But..Hmm...what if we mixed it up a bit. Wordfen, Nolfen, Nordwen, Nordolfen, or something of the like...like we did with the Brungar..? (I personally don't really like any of those suggestions, I'm just thinking outloud. Nolfen would be my choice out of those though..).

It depends: north of the tree line, nothing can grow, but there are trees in several places that are still cold enough. I suppose we have to decide whether they live near enough to the tree line to obtain wood regularly.

We could use a simpler name. My suggestions are either the wolf tribe or canine hord, or maybe the Fenris. Warg is wolf in old english, and EoM has that. Benorpan means north of. Alternatively, we could use the name of a celtic, viking or native american tribe.
