Forum status update - December 18th 2009

Hi there!

Everything went as planned and we have just finished upgrading the forum software. As a consequence, several things have changed, and they are listed here for your convenience. If you notice any problems with the forums as a result of this upgrade, please post them here so we can check and fix them.

• On all forums where it makes sense, there's a new Quick Reply option when browsing individual topics. Please make good use of it unless you want to see it disappear!
• RSS2 feeds are no longer supported, and the way to access Atom feeds has changed. Adequate user agents such as Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or later, and Safari should be able to provide you with the new selection of feeds.
• The wowgold forum style is gone and replaced by the AcidTech Orange style; there's also a blue (default) version of this new style as well. The reason for the change is that the old style didn't support several of the new features and we didn't want to leave those who prefer darker color schemes unable to join in the fun.
• The wesnoth forum style, which used to be the default before the Great Crash of 2008, is now the default style again for new users.
• You can now report PM abuse in the same way you can report spam or posts that do not conform to the Posting Guidelines; by clicking on the appropriate button, the offending PM will be made available for the developers, moderators and forum administrators to see.

Hi,

"View active topics" doesn't seem to work anymore, all I get are the two global anouncements (this one and the "report post button" one).

"View active topics" is usually pretty buggy... it's generally better to use "View new posts" or "View unread posts".

It's fixed now anyway, and all forums but the Feedback sections are included.
