Hurt and Heal: Campaign Boss Villains (SPOILERS!)
Since the protagonists thread just wrapped up, I thought I'd try villains. I've gone with a couple of rather unconventional choices in addition to the obvious--I figured, why not?
I haven't played NR or UtBS yet--if there's anyone I've missed, please add them, and if anyone remembers the LoW chief's name, please add it too.

I would, however, prefer to instate a rule that you have to give a reason why you're voting up/down a particular person. Not only does it make it less annoying to people who disagree with you, but it's also valuable feedback for the writers and developers. If you've already voted someone up/down again, there's no need to provide another reason, but it's still rather annoying when people are like OMG POISON SUX and provide no justification. :/ This is more of a recommendation than a rule; if you really can't think of anything, say "I can't think of anything" or "I've/someone else has already talked about this" (this is so we know people who leave their messages completely blank haven't read this).

Re: Hurt and Heal: Campaign Boss Villains
You seem to have forgotten the one real major villain of DiD: Malin/Mal Keshar. He spends most of the campaign screwing himself over, after all

I really enjoyed the way Halstead had to be destroyed by wrecking the underneath so it collapsed and the way that you couldn't take it by brute force. But Draken Volk is a generic evil guy.

Thanks zigg, and I second it. The last level of Liberty is one of my favorite levels in the game, mainly because of the way the level itself manages to feel like a boss enemy, which is why I included it in the list.
As for bland, generic evil I think Mal Ravanal takes the cake--less forgivable than either Volk or Malifor, because he is the climactic encounter.

I dont even know/remember most of them. Well, for now its the chief, because we are not even sure he got a name and you get the units and the strategy to kill him at the very start of the mission. Not memorable at all.
I like Asheviere on the other hand. Its hard to explain, but while you don't see her until the last scenario you have indeed the feeling you are fighting someone worth fighting against. Sure shes kind of stereotypical, but in a good way as the whole plot slowly reveals her evil deeds and shows you the need to change something. She's not just another lich or orc captain terrorizing everything, but indeed one of the very few lawful antagonists in the wesnoth campaigns.

<Zarel> Hmm, I think this may have been brought up before, but does anyone know why Asheviere is chaotic?
<zookeeper> Zarel, probably for no other reason besides that she's "evil"
<Zarel> zookeeper: Do you think people would agree to changing it?
<zookeeper> well, i would
<zookeeper> having a chaotic human queen of wesnoth is kinda silly
<zookeeper> no matter how evil
<Zarel> Especially since she's not very chaotic at all.
<zookeeper> i'll change it to lawful
<Zarel>
<zookeeper> and people say it's hard for suggestions to get implemented?
I was going to point out that Asheviere's unit isn't actually lawful, but it is now.

Taking one from Halstead on the grounds that a fort is not a villain, and giving it to Malifor on the the grounds that he was one scary, powerful Ancient Lich. Also, I really enjoyed Northern Rebirth a lot.

Kill - he's a fairly dull, under-developed megalomaniac villain, and he's not even the boss villain, you kill him off less than halfway through the campaign.

Re: Hurt and Heal: Campaign Boss Villains
Forgive me my interruption, but the fire dragon in SoF doesn't fit in there because iirc you don't need to kill him to win the scenario, which is in my view vital to qualify as a villain.
