"The game could not be saved"

Post by onyhow »

I'm currently playing Son of the Black Eye campaign, but after I finish Towards Mountains of Haag (2nd scenario), the game reported that "the game could not be saved"...

It has the OK button, but nothing happens when I hit it...

OS: Windows XP SP2
Wesnoth Version: 1.6.3, trying to upgrade to 1.6.4 but nothing changes

Savegame and stderr.txt attached below...

It seems that this problem has happened before here, but there's no answer there, so, can anyone help?

Thank you

Well, the obvious question is: do you have enough hard disk space to save the game or is your disk full? (The savegame works just fine here.)

Which language are you playing in? (Just in case the charset matters.)

English...

That map is the only one I have this problem, I don't have any problem with other campaigns...

PS. Is it possible for anyone to post the save file of the next stage from the one I've posted? If possible, thanks...

Seems like the ó might be your problem. What filesystem are you saving on?

As a workaround you can change the scenario name in data/campaigns/Son_Of_The_Black_Eye/scenarios/04_The_Siege_Of_Barag_Gor.cfg:4.

Filesystem? NTFS...

And...it seems that the name of the scenario file already has an o, not ó...weird...

Thank you for the save file, by the way...but it seems that the game can't autosave, though...

The filename of the cfg is irrelevant. You need to change line 4 in that file. That will change the savegame name.

That is an issue with a UMC, which is not the responsibility of Wesnoth developers. I would suggest finding the relevant thread for that campaign and posting any issues you have with the author's campaign there.
Mainline Maintainer: AOI, DM, NR, TB and THoT.
UMC Maintainer: Forward They Cried, A Few Logs, A Few More Logs, Start of the War, and Battle Against Time
