I don't really remember too, I think it was on a "parkway" on sourceforge, there are 1 or 2 years...

I learned about Wesnoth through my brother, who got in on a CD full of open source things from one of his friends. :D (And I'm very glad I did, too. ^^)

Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Bumped into the game thanks to Google. I'll forever thank Internet power for that (and you devs, of course, too XD)...

i just bumped last weekend on BfW when i searched for free Mini-Games for a Lan Party.... actually i was looking for a Bomberman Clone :lol2: when i saw BfW on a German Website which lists several Games you can play online and by LAN... i just forgot the name of the website.... :hmm:

Well it sounds interesting so i downloaded it this Monday (i didn't thought that it would look that good... reminds me of Fire Emblem) and it's a great game with great Music (which fits perfect for PnP RPG i think)

It was suggested on one of the Linux Forums I visit. Not sure which one. So I guess that would mean my source was a community member.

The first strategy game I played on *nix (besides 'trek') was xconq. After installing this and playing a while and realizing the AI was absolutely terrible, I looked for a decent strategy game that wouldn't require me to boot to windows or dos. Wesnoth has the best AI of any of the strategy games I've played, and also a good amount of users always ready for a mp game, so it wins out. I'm all about a good challenge. And, it's become a really pretty game to play, much improvement from when I started. Still, I wish someone would update the AI for xconq someday. It was such a promising project, way back when, but everyone seems to have given up on it.

I first learned of this game from listening to an early recording of Frank Sinatra's Beyond the Sea.

My brother showed it to me. And I just gotta say that this game is awesome, I like this type of graphics, not things as warcraft and such. So regarding the graphics in wesnoth, I hope it doesn't develope much. ;)

I can't really remember where I found out about Wesnoth.
I think I found it on YouTube (the trailer or something)
or I find out when searching for free online games on Google, surfing through websites untill I discovered this.

Found out about it about ... well, two years ago in the "Linux Lounge" at the university I'm enlisted to.
Made some of my friends play it, too :) Publishing it under Windows as well was a good decision ;)
