I'm not sure that you've got the knot for the extra length of belt in the right place - it looks like the bit that comes round from her back is tied off, not the extra length from the buckle - that should be the other side of the buckle.

Also, why do those tend to be so long on your belts? It strikes me now that they'd get in the way a lot, and chopping them to length would be more practical.

Otherwise, looks good.

The right hand/arm strikes me as being stiff and a tad awkward. Would it not be more natural to have more hanging at her side a bit more? The fist is nice, it conveys a sort of toughness. ..and the hair rocks. :)

tsi: Good catch with the belt! Should be fixed now. Dunno, I just like long belts in general, not much thought just an aesthetic bias.
TheJM: I changed some little things about the arm, but not the basic position, a totally relaxed arm with a fist wouldn't make sense.

Otherwise first pass of shading finished...

Nice. Were is her sling though? I don;t see it anywhere on her.

Depicting all of the weapons is not mandatory. We've been over this quite a few times. Generally, it helps to have one weapon, but having more than one gets into territory where it's quite easy to become awkward and forced. Because of how the real world works, it's quite rare for dual-wielding to look natural and easy.

Also, if I know kitty, I suspect that she'll depict one gender of the unit with one weapon, and the other with the other, on units whose two weapons are of reoughly equal prominence. I could be wrong, though.

That looks incredible! The only critique I have is that the lines between her eyebrows, and the accompanying light and shadow, are too strong--she looks like she has a bit of a protrusion there.

Kitty: I'm not sure what you did, but it does look a bit better. Might possibly be the shading, or maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me. Who knows. :)

Fin version of the Footpad - her male companion will be next.

tsi: Yep, I plan to incorporate the sling in the male version's portrait, perhaps not active in his hand but definitely visible. I don't do that as a rule but most of the times it works nicely if a unit has two equally important wheapons.
A-Red: Changed those lines on your suggestion, thanks!
TheJM: It's not only the shading, but the shoulder and upper arm, I slimmed them down a lot. ;)

I'll get those committed in the am, assuming noone spots any glaring issues.

Committed to trunk only.

...damn, I just noticed, shouldn't she be flipped horizontally? If you want me to do that, kitty, let me know =)

Quite nice, details are to the extent to be used as a reference :) My only issue, and that I'm not certain,
say a feeling, is about her right arm. I know we're talking about perspective there, but still, shouldn't it be
longer? Especially the right hand is smallish too...

The way I see it, her right elbow is bent and is behind her torso, therefore creating the shortening. Also the baggy sleeves distort the view.
