Randomize title music after introductory theme?
Hi,
I should have thought about referencing this forum earlier. What do you think: https://gna.org/bugs/?10111 ?

Re: Randomize title music after introductory theme?
I personally would love a new music track which would build upon the Main Theme but include motifs from some of the other major songs, kind of like the intro screen to World of Warcraft. I feel the Main Theme is simply too short, but I think it would be great to hear a little bit of everything at the main menu that can be heard from many of the different songs from within the game.

This is an interesting idea. Maybe someone could mix a longer track using the most memorable Wesnoth themes..?

I am actually working on a new main theme... It will be approximately 2:30 minutes...
But, does not contain any theme from the game. Would be a bit long to do. But, if someone is up the task, it could be nice!

Hey guys.
Working on something! It's a new theme.
Should be posting it soon.
Btw, it'd be impossible to reach a consensus on which theme is the most pliable for development.

Yes, please do that.
I can't stand the title music any longer.
Not that it is bad.
But testing campaigns means restarting Wesnoth often...
And I don't want to disable the music either.

Is there any way to instantly test campaigns without having to restart the game client all the time ?fabi wrote: But testing campaigns means restarting Wesnoth often...

Re: Randomize title music after introductory theme?
If you guys are still interested, I might give it a try at making a long track that includes themes from the game. In general, I like to compose my own themes and melodies, but making something out of varied preexisting stuff sounds interesting.

I, for one, would like to hear it. Even if it turns out not fitting the game I'm sure it would make a great listening piece for Wesnoth fans.

It'd be great for a new main theme like that...... the current one sounds epic, but hearing something hundreds of times gets boring (agrees with everyone else)
I thought ancestral's Besieged was a great start.....I recommend you listen to that for some ideas PPH
Otherwise, good luck on making a new title screen theme!!

Actually, Aleksi is making one. I just offered myself to make a large theme out of preeexisting Wesnoth themes.CheeseLord wrote:It'd be great for a new main theme like that...... the current one sounds epic, but hearing something hundreds of times gets boring (agrees with everyone else)

Maybe randomize the theme is a better solution. Making a larger theme is no solution, because people listens to the first seconds most of the time, so they'll get bored anyway.
EDIT: and Rain is making a theme too.
