Hey guys and gals,

I have submitted a new mod to addons, called "DW Creepfest". It allows you to play a standard battle with optional extra features.

There are 1v1 and 2v2 maps in the package. You can play simple maps named:

2p Dungeon Wars No Creeps
4p Dungeon Wars No Creeps

But you can also play slightly modified versions of these maps with extra features included:

4p Dungeon Wars Creepfest


Features:

SHOP
You can buy monsters there with your leader. Several types are available. The monsters spawn at the northern or southern dungeon. The farther from your home castle you want the monster to appear, the more you have to pay for it.
If you pay only half the price, the monster won't join your side and will become neutral, attacking anyone in sight, even the faction which paid for it.

RUNES
The northern and southern dungeons have three exits each but these are blocked by walls at the beginning. There are runes on the map which open/close these walls when any unit steps on it. Each rune has a name and is linked to a specific wall with the same name.
Watch out, if your unit stands in a wall hex and someone closes the wall, your unit is crushed dead.

Update:

* Neutral monsters have black team colour now in both 1v1 and 2v2
* Moved the eastern and western runes one hex farther from the center
* Enlarged the monster spawning places a bit
* Changed terrain around villages 4,16 and 34,5 to allow faster claim for non-scouts
* Moved the "Buy this monster!" option to the bottom of the shop options
* Fixed a bug with initial Ogre cost being too low
* Rewritten the initial map description

My biggest concern so far is how to make the mod more comprehensible for people who skip the initial text. Any suggestions are welcome. :lol2:

You may put the text again on the objectives screen, written somewhere in the map, as a book (like in Temple of the nagas), in contextual menu...

Can you point me to the section of WML wiki where to learn about contextual menu, please? :D

Went for the -objectives- solution for the time being.


Another small update:

* added Objectives window with 3 sentences of key info
* made rune labels bigger and painted them red
* Relabeled shops to make it clear that only leaders can shop there

No idea if there is anything in WML wiki. It's better if you check Royal Rumble, which has a contextual menu implemented.

I played it a bit. It was quite fun. Thanks.
Some suggestion (english):
[*]Buy menu is a little uncomfortable. It seems that you cant buy more creeps in one turn if your leader doesnt move from shop to shop. Why?
[*]What about make your addon translatable?

Návrhy - upřesnění (czech):
Není to, jak funguje menu pro nakupování potvor (že se otevře, jenom když vůdce vstoupí na obchod), způsobeno tím, že je to event toho místa? Já teda nevím, jak jsi to zamýšlel, ale myslím, že ti zřejmě není proti srsti, aby se potvory mohly nakupovat v "masivním" měřítku, třeba i několik v jednom kole (když si hráči nastaví dost peněz). Nebylo by potom lepší udělat to vyvolávání nákupu v nabídce příkazů, jako je tomu v Nové zemi? Prostě když vůdce stojí v obchodě a klikne se na něj pravým tlačítkem, tak tam bude nabídka s hvězdičkou Nakupuj potvory (nebo tak něco). I když, aby zase neskončil tah...

No a pokud připravíš svou MP kampaň k internacionalizaci, tak jí rád přeložím do čestiny. Nebo si jí pak přeložíš sám, jak budeš chtít. Myslím, že se musí do kódu .pbl souboru přidat řetězec translate=true (nebo tak něco) a automaticky se to natáhne do Wescampu (tábor všech překladů).

It is my intention to allow just one monster purchase per visit. The monsters shouldn't be your main fighting force but rather a carefully planned advantage.
Anyway, provided your leader has enough MP you can purchase up to 3 monsters per round.

Is there anything else you found uncomfortable? :wink:


Translation - yes, it seems the text content is stable now so I'm gonna update it as free-to-translate. :)

One unconsistent think: You describe your maps as "underground", but they arent underground, they are open aired (days period is changing).

After many a dreamless night, I have finally managed to correct the language settings. Yayness! :lol2:

Also a nasty bug fixed in 4p scenario where bought monsters were assigned to wrong side in certain cases.


I hereby declare the mod finished now. 8)

1.1.2 is out. Basically just some overlooked bugs that emerged after transition to 1.8.x

* Fixed missing spider icon in shop
* Fixed several obsolete colouring syntaxes of labels in shop
