Who made those time-of-day images?
I've wondered this for a while. I've checked the credits and can find no answer.
What artist made the day and night images that depict the time of day in the user interface? I've used them once to create a piece of code for a website that would change the images as the actual time of day progresses.
Click here to see the result.
I want to know primarily so that I can give credit where credit is due, however I'd also like to make sure the creator of these images isn't opposed to my doing this.
Re: Who made...
If you read the below, I believe fmunoz did those images.

I couldn't say myself, unfortunately. But you should be aware that there's a 24 hour version which might be of use to your project, assuming you can find out what you need to =)

Whoa... sweet. That would make my code look that much cooler.
Is fmunoz online often?

He was away for a long while, but recently he's popped up a few times. Drop him a PM, you might get a response =)

Re: Who made...
Actually fmunoz didn't draw these images. The time of day images he drew can be seen in these screenshots:
http://www.wesnoth.org/images/sshots/wesnoth-01.jpg
http://www.wesnoth.org/images/sshots/wesnoth-02.jpg
The time of day images we use were, IIRC, made by a contributor who contacted me out of the blue, sent them to me, seemed to communicate primarily in the subject line of emails rather than in the body of the email, and promptly disappeared.
He did definitely, however, agree to license them under the GPL.
They may have been modified and retouched over the years by various people.
It's actually a testament to this artist that his images have survived so long. They may be the oldest surviving images in the game.

Wow. Okay. You don't happen to know the alias of the person who sent them in do you?
In the meanwhile, check out the update: http://mods.ipbfree.com/index.php?showtopic=6283

Five and a half years ago, I suspect. I proposed replacements five years ago - that was when we got our present "underground" time of day image. The actual day/night images predate even that...Dave wrote:This was five years ago.
