Re: What are you reading right now?
Just finished Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison. It's got the highest events-to-story ratio of any book I can remember reading. There were a couple neat things about it, but I wouldn't recommend it.
I'm also in the middle of Heart of Darkness, I plan to re-read Black Trillium soon, and I've had William Nicholson's "Wind on Fire" trilogy recommended to me. I'm stuck with a week-long vacation and a lack of inspiration, so I'm doing a bunch of reading.

It's all fun and games until someone loses a lawsuit. Oh, and by the way, sending me private messages won't work. :/ If you must contact me, there's an e-mail address listed on the website in my profile.

If you like Conrad's style in Heart of Darkness, I would recommend The Secret Agent by him if you have not read it. The change of theme is enjoyable (from seafaring and exploration to espionage and anarchy), and Conrad tells the story very convincingly.Elvish Pillager wrote:I'm stuck with a week-long vacation and a lack of inspiration, so I'm doing a bunch of reading.

Re: What are you reading right now?
Watchman is a little bit more graphical than say spiderman.
I'm looking forward to the movie. Quess it will be around the same level as Sin City.(Hopefull more deep than Sin City and as deep as the comic)

Re: What are you reading right now?
I was just curious; even though i has been some time since i read it (making it off subject in off topic).
I was wondering if any else here has read "Niffit the Lean", by Micheal Shea.
Just thinking that this would be a good read for Anyone developing a dark shaded campaign.

Re: What are you reading right now?
I've just finished a couple of chapters of this as it has been endorsed on the forums on several occasions. So far, I'm a bit underwhelmed. If I continue, will it offer me any more than any other gritty underworld story about an unhelathy jaded ex-cop/ex-special forces/ex-whatever having unlikely sex with a super-fit female ninja and doing shady deals in back streets? Maybe it gets more interesting...?Lorbi wrote:Neuromancer by Gibson.

Re: What are you reading right now?
As soon as the book turns up in my mailbox I will start rereading of Pratchetts "Death"-novels, starting with "Mort", followed by "Reaper Man" and "Soul Music". I read them in German a while ago. Now it's finally time for the English versions.

Re: What are you reading right now?
-Just finished The Call of Cthulhu and Other Weird Stories (actually I may have one left) by H.P. Lovecraft
-Also finished a bit ago: Scar Night and Iron Angel by Alan Campbell.
-Am working on Elfen Ritter (German, Elf Knight) Trilogy. Read the first two parts Die Ordensburg and Die Albenmark (The Monastic-Order Castle and Land of the Albs) and onto Das Fjordland (The Fjord-land). I would heavily recommend this series to anyone who can read German: Die Elfen (first and best book, IMO), Elfen Winter, Elfen Licht. And now the following series, (which takes place after the last two, and during the first one) Elfen Ritter. All written by Bernhard Hennen.
