Funny - that's the same drumbeat I used in my first song in Garageband.

I can see this being used in one of those fantasy/sci-fi hybrid settings so common amongst Japanese RPGs - it has both natural and techno elements. Has anyone written a scenario like that for Wesnoth yet?

Not even vaguely fitting for Wesnoth; nice little tune though. Love that Vangelis-esque synth bass.

However, there is some weird rhythmic clashing going on between the drums and the synth chords. The drums are playing a syncopated 4/4 while the synths play triplets throughout. Kind of ruins the groove.

I didn´t notice the rythmic clash until you said it, but it´s true.

To make more music fit for Wesnoth, what would you suggest me to do in the future tunes?
I got orchestra and strings, but missing the typical Wesnoth drums. Where perhaps to get that and other relativ sounds?

I really like both of them, but I have a question: how did you save a garageband peice as a .ogg?

I have been trying for a while, but have failed mizerably.

Oh..... Witaminnit.... No wonder . I have been trying to save music peices from garageband into wesnoth .ogg. I kinda assumed it would be in this format. If you are going to put music into wesnoth this might be useful technical info anyway.....

To save in .ogg format from GarageBand, first export it as AIFF (Share -> Export song to disk). Choose not to compress the song. (For best results, when doing any conversion, always start from a lossless format like AIFF, uncompressed WAV, FLAC, or Apple Lossless.)

To play .ogg files in QuickTime and iTunes, consider downloading and installing xiph components. If you have QuickTime Pro you can File -> Export to Ogg. Always export from the highest quality possible. (You may need to choose a target quality setting so as to bring down the file size to a reasonable level. It seems most songs are in the 5-10 MB range, though this will vary depending on song length.)

Assuming you don't have QT Pro, you'll then need an ogg converter (maybe something like Ogg Drop, though I've never tried this personally).
