On what version did you first play Wesnoth?

I actually made a .map file of the original Blitz and updated it to 1.4.x standard in order to still have it.

You mean not everyone did that?

Hehe, I don't know? All I know is that I haven't seen it on the server. Maybe I'll host it every once in a while.

I first played Wesnoth on the 1.3 version. I couldn't wait for 1.4, and when it was released, I couldn't get it (which really aggravated me). I think the version I play now is the 1.3, still. I'm too lazy to get the new version... lol.... I'm actually fine with the older version, though.

I was of course pretty disappointed, and didn't touch it for a long time, since there was no real game to be played yet. Then I came back a while later, and I've been coming and going ever since... and idling in the IRC channels the whole time.

You know, now that I think about it, it was the tutorial only, not HTTT, that was on the earliest versions. Where did you get that release? Mine was on Windows.

I actually found a 1.2 installation package on my old computer I gave to my father. I've played with it - ahh, good ol' times - the same annoyances are all the same. Yes, the annoyingly long AI turns that made me stop playing back then. I played 1.4 as well... the same annoyance repeated.

1.6 still has the annoyance. Do I have to buy a Quad Core with 8GHz RAM to be able to play the game smoothly?

I think, if i can remember 0.8, but some other modern versions were playable, i think the next i played was 1.1 ...
