Minotaur Artwork Revised

Post by Quietus »

Hello all. Its been a while. After the server went down for what seemed like eons, i went on holiday for a week, so i havnt had access to the internet. As i read, it appears that any posts made 2 months ago, have been lost, so i thought rather than reviving the old minotaur artwork thread i would simply create a new one, which makes everything alot easier to find.

So here is my current to-do list along with all the new sprites I have completed:

-gore

-rouser

-savage

Those are cool, but I liked the old Behemoth more. That one looks too happy, I think. But I don't know what makes it so happy looking... Maybe the eyes? Horns? Mouth? If the head would be the old head, it would look uber cool, I think.

Wow! Seriously good artwork Quietus :!:
I find it hard to distinguish any difference between the Boar rider and Knight except for the spear head though...
The Rouser is awesome mate, and nice hovering animation for the mystic :D
P.S. Is your first post supposed to say ''sprites'' because currently it sounds rather funny :lol2:

i have to agree with longbow, unless you study it, you dont notice the additional armor and the different spearhead.

Perhaps this may even be considered for mainline, the artwork is certainly up to it imo :)
I'm looking forward to the new executioner#

Nah, mainline is fine as it is.The minotaurs have a nice place in the EOS at the moment :)

OK here are a few edits. The first being the changing of the boar rider, ive made the lvl 1 less armoured and its easier to tell the lvl 1 from the lvl 2. The second is the behemoths face. It is a direct copy of the origional, with only very little editing. IS this any better?

The behemoth looks much less jolly now, IMHO.

Since mainline was brought up, it's been forever since anything new has been added to Wesnoth mainline in terms of units, what if once this is balanced and the art is complete it could possibly be added to mainline as a new era.

Hmm, I like those really much. But I still liked the old Behemoth better, but I think that's more Wesnoth-ish, so it's better now, I think. :)

Some more updates:

1. Edited the behemoth a little more, he is now finnished to me
2. edited the boar rider a little more as well. He is almost done though i might do a little more to him still.
3. edited the savage considerably. He now has that celtic look (hopefully lol) and is wearing more rags.

I have also updated the first post with the new sprites. Next one im going to be working on will probaboly be the ancient behemoth, and then the warlock. Ill keep posting when i feel it is at a near finnished stage.

I think the level 1 boar rider's boar should be maskless to help differentiate it from the lvl 2.

Awesome job.

Thanks, I might try that idea actually, but currently I have another almost completed sprite

The warlock..the lvl 2 of the Shaman. Im still working on thestanding frame, which will ahve the crystals floating round his body, and when wants to melee atack, they will form a staff for him to use.

That sprite is excellent Quietus... I like your idea of the crystals...

When the Warlock performs the melee attack will he simply make a crystal staff or will the crystals morph into a wooden/whatever staff?
