Drakes (Portraits)

Post by doofus-01 »

This thread got lost in the server failure, but that's OK because most of the images were WIP. These are the latest versions of the ones that have been seen. Some people pointed out that the clasher was holding his spear too close to the head, but I did that to keep everything in the box.

EDIT: The spear may be too crooked, or the bright side of the metal could be lost against the light forum background. I put a black box behind it.

And this is the start of a glider. Mostly just a concept at this point. Any thoughts?

Good, but Fighter's skin needs recoloring.

Very nice. I especially like what you did with the warrior's weapon. It's simple and still very original. It really gives him a good personnality.
The WIP of the glider seems fine to me.

Keep doing this great job

Drakes are more of a brownish color, so yes.

dont think color really matters for drakes, as i assume they can have many scale tones? clashers spear still seems to be not straight. might just be my eyes playing tricks on me.

EDIT: now that i look at the spear again i think i was mistaken.

I would have to say that the new weapon for the fighter is my FAVORITE Wesnoth weapon ever! Very nice! :D

I'd learned during the great crash in the summer that irclogs were worth looking at. I've also been wondering about the new portrait scheme (how will it scale/crop etc. - what's been said on these forums is inconclusive), so I was paying attention to the recent talk and noticed something about using the old drake portraits. Would these help, as temporary ones until Girgistian gets his done?

I can give layered files, if that helps.

i have no idea how to check irc-logs myself but thank you for offering help!
we are going for quick updates on all those old portraits, just removing the black backgrounds and adding the bits that go over the edges. but no stylistic conversion. if you want to help, check this out! :D
