 those are great portraits! just like the first batch! i especially like the emperor kind of guy g8!

i just don't understand what you aim to achieve. :hmm: if you want to work for a specific campaign or faction, just do it - the maintainer will just be thankfull! or if you intend them to be for mainline do portraits for specific units... i just fear the way you work now will produce much art that won't be used anytime soon. which would be a pitty, because they all look great.

that said - they all look like they belong to a distinct culture. some mix of roman elements and scyths plus a darker skin colour? is there some back story?

Yes. Drakes have slight variations, but the other races don't.
The thing is, we know from reality that humans have a variety of skin tones. The same human has a variety of skin tones depending on how much sun they get.

I don't see a problem, noone's going to mistake these guys for orcs - orcs are all shaggy with big floppy ears, for a start...

I like the revisions, and your new portraits :). From what I remember of the originals, the revisions are a good improvement.

Their emotional tone is conveyed quite well. It makes me think they are part of the same people, just as much as the similar clothing and style. It's a bit surprising to hear they're not for a particular campaign.

They have the seriousness about them of some tragedy remembered, but the individuals are still quite distinct in their portrayal.

Still, the anatomy and clothing is quite generic. I could see them being used in a variety of situations simply by recolouring the skin, hair and clothes. But you might have to do some self-promotion for campaign designers to be able to find them.

Great work. All of them has a real personnality.
Some shading would make them even better.

I think, the guys from Extended Era might be able to use it for the Kalifa faction.
