Some problems have arisen:
1) Though I tried to join the new IE forums, as of yet I have not received any response, and therefore cannot provide confirmation or sign in.
2) If the old jconserv IE forums ever get up and running again, we'll have to act fast to save as much of the content from those forums as we can. Doesn't jconserv have a policy that a forum that has no activity for at least a month will be deleted?
3) To the best of my knowledge, some of the proposed factions exist in their fully developed form only on the jconserv IE forums, and therefore are currently unavailable to any of us.

That's unfortunate. I'm not sure what I can do about it - I'll look into it.Temuchin Khan wrote:Some problems have arisen:

Indeed, those could both be issues. Hopefully jconserv won't be down permanently - I'm still checking every day, and once it's back up I'll go in and copy all the stuff to my computer and eventually post it on the new forums.Temuchin Khan wrote:2) If the old jconserv IE forums ever get up and running again, we'll have to act fast to save as much of the content from those forums as we can. I was thinking of doing the same, at least for some of the materials.turin wrote:Indeed, those could both be issues. The fix is kind of complicated... you need to replace a file for every single mounted unit and a central file. You might want to just wait for the next releease; it should be sometime in the next week. If you want to do it yourself, go here and get the new versions of the file various.cfg and all of the .cfgs for units that have unintended immunity to energy (there's a few dozen of them). Use them to replace the versions found in USERDATA/data/campaigns/Imperial_Era/units/.K4tz wrote:Hi, I've got a problem with mounted units not being affected by energy attacks. I looked on your forums and it said that you'd fixed it but I'm assuming you haven't uploaded the fixed version to the campaign server yet? Please could you tell me what I need to change to get the resistances right?

Re: Imperial Multiplayer Era - version 0.17 released
Fantastic era! I have started playtesting this more and more lately, and I will probably keep doing so, and leaving comments as I go
This far, I have some pointers and questions:
-- The Marauder Axeman is at L1 equally good at both melee and ranged attacks. At L2 (Hunter) they are somewhat better at ranged than at melee, and then at L3 (Woodsman) it gets shifted so that they are better at melee than at ranged. Is this intended or not? Either way, it is very odd Perhaps the L2 should be better at melee, than at ranged?
-- The Lavinian Auxiliary seems to have too high damage and/or too high HP for it's low gold cost (11g).
-- "imper_champs-orcei_gladiatores.cfg" seems to be having a bad unit link. I think this regards the "Magni Murmillo Leonis".
Keep up the good work!

Glad you like it.Valenwood wrote:Fantastic era! I have started playtesting this more and more lately, and I will probably keep doing so, and leaving comments as I go
Since the woodsman is one of the only Marauder units that can use ranged attacks at all, I think it would probably make the most sense for him to be a bit better at ranged than melee. So I think I'll change the Woodsman to have a better ranged attack and worse melee attack.Valenwood wrote:This far, I have some pointers and questions:

Good point. Do you think his cost should be increased, or should his HP or damage be decreased?Valenwood wrote:-- The Lavinian Auxiliary seems to have too high damage and/or too high HP for it's low gold cost (11g).

Re: Imperial Multiplayer Era - version 0.17 released
I kind of like their low cost, compared to the rest of the high cost of Lavinian units. Maybe a -slight- decrease in HP and lower their MP to 5? It will be hard to lower their damage in a good way.. 4-3 seems a bit too low, but maybe 7-2 could do? I'm not sure, really Not just gimp them too much, just a slight rebalanceturin wrote:Good point. Making the Woodsman better at ranged than at melee sounds like a good idea, and I think you should go ahead with it
By the way, I updated my last post before I saw your response Latest post update was this:
-- "imper_champs-orcei_gladiatores.cfg" seems to be having a bad unit link. I think this regards the "Magni Murmillo Leonis". This can cause game crash while going with Random hero, or by manually picking the "?"-marked unit (which seems to be the bad link to "Magni Murmillo Leonis"). Probably just a simple ID typo?
Re: Imperial Multiplayer Era - version 0.17 released
Yeah, that's just a typo in the ID... really simply to fix. But I probably wouldn't have caught it for a while if you hadn't mentioned it, so thanks.Valenwood wrote:By the way, I updated my last post before I saw your response Latest post update was this:

Re: Imperial Multiplayer Era - version 0.17 released
More stuff:
-- Using "Imperial Champions", the Issaelfr are missing their faction image. Image link typo in "imper_champs-issaelfr.cfg"? Does not link to Ice Dancer image in proper way.
-- The Issaelfr L2 "Mistral Rime Keeper" seems to be a healer and support unit while having the slow special on it's ranged attack. This is good as it is; the L2 is perfect in my opinion, but when andvancing into L3 ("Mistral Rime Castellan"), they somehow lose their slow special and get their damage increased by a lot instead, while at the same time getting even better at healing. Shouldn't they keep their slow attack from L2 and be less damaging than as of now? I mean, the "Glacialist" mage line seems to be the one who should be focusing on damage, since the "Rime" line are healers/supporters?
-- The Lavinian L2 "Field Ballista" should be recruitable by the Lavinians in "Imperial Heroes"?
-- What is the real difference between the Arendian L3 "Bowmaster" and the Arendian L3 "Bowknight"? They seem identical.
Hmm, Arendians, in general, seem to have very high damage units. Can't say much about this yet, since I have not playtested them enough, but I will be playing around with them to check things out. Maybe it's not an issue.
Anyways, sorry if I am being bothersome or a pain in the butt or whatever, but I feel a bit spammy at the moment

Re: Imperial Multiplayer Era - version 0.17 released
One last thing for now! Maybe in future releases of IE, you could change the ID of the Era to reflect the latest version? As discussed in this thread, that is.
