Widescreen Support
I was wondering if widescreen support is planned for future releases.

Re: Widescreen Support
I'm running Wesnoth 1.4 on a MacbookPro with 1920x1200 resolution without any problems.
But what about multi monitor support?

On my MacBookPro with an external monitor when I switch to fullscreen the internal display goes blank.Dave wrote:Multiple monitors work fine with my Ubuntu setup....

Re: Widescreen Support
Don't get me wrong, Wesnoth performs beautifully on my machine (iMac, 1440x900). However, when I run it in full screen, there is an inch of unused screen real estate on either side. I think it would be nice if somehow either the app could detect your screen size or the user can indicate the screen size so that none of the screen goes to waste and the user can see more of the battlefield at a time.

Re: Widescreen Support
It can, you just have to change the the game's resolution to 1280x800 (The highest one).scienceguy8 wrote:Don't get me wrong, Wesnoth performs beautifully on my machine (iMac, 1440x900). Preferences -> Display -> Change Resolution
What's this annoying thing that appears at the bottom of every one of my posts?
Re: Widescreen Support
I’m taking the liberty of reusing this old thread since it the same topic.
While the actual game screen looks alright, the opening screen has some too wide side margins imho, especially to the right of the main menu. (Using a 1366x768 resolution.)

Re: Widescreen Support
My only comment would be that in widescreen mode the units look stretched. I've cycled through all the resolutions.
It's not something that really bothers me. Just a comment.

Re: Widescreen Support
I bet the asymmetry is intended. The button bar on the right is more important and useful (for most users) than the tips, so it gets nudged towards the center of the screen.Kess wrote:the opening screen has some too wide side margins imho, especially to the right of the main menu.
Seriously? They certainly don't for me. Are you sure you have an available resolution with the right width to height ratio?jb wrote:My only comment would be that in widescreen mode the units look stretched.
