Where do the dead come from?

Post by Neoriceisgood »

Yeah after ayin released his castle tutorial I just had to be the first to try it out, and see here; the result.
a graveyard for the undead with a complete fence with little gargoyles.
All I have to do is a keep and it's done :D

Not bad. Any ideas for the keep yet?

What about a crypt or something to serve as keep?

I'd have a dracula type manor...

A crypt would be a nice small image. it would be the right scale for one hex. I like the ideaof the undead spawning forth from the dark recesses of an unholy crypt.

Awesome graveyard, it's great to see the undead get their own castle. It reminds me of Blood Raven's graveyard from Diablo 2 Act I. Diablo 2 had some good crypt art, just a small scary building with a dark opening leading underground.

Now what would the orcs use? Can we think of something besides the encampments?

A crypt would be a good keep. I would also say that I this this is leaning a bit too heavily on the cartoony side, but it is good.

Great idea, by the way...

Impressive. I take it you've already chopped up the images into suitable chunks?

To go with the general consensus, a crypt would be perfect for the Keep (though it would be nice if we could have variety in keeps too... a manor would suit the Vampire Lady).

You can see there are 3 different grave hexes on the inside of the castle: a hex with an open grave, a hex with a filled grave and a hex with several gravestones. It's the variety in grave hexes that make it look so cool, it's nice not to have the same image repeated over and over.

Good enough. Add it in, we can de-cartoonify it later. Isn't that the result of the art debate?
