Swamp Elves (Development Stage:Published/Playtesting)
THE SWAMP ELVES
The Swamp Elves are a race of elves who live in Quenoth, like the Desert Elves. They HATE the Desert though, and fought a bitter war with them in the past.
They live in HUGE swamp in grass huts.
That's all for now folks.

Well this would be clarified.
Although you could have been a bit more subtile at least not as a brick in the face.
On a more serious note the desert elves could need a new paint. This could help the campaign Utbs if you have some spare time.

You could consider the units and their relation to the swamp environment a little more. For example, I don't see a horse-mounted unit being remotely feasible for a swamp environment. Maybe a mounted unit could work, but with a mount from the swamps (giant toad rider? ). Also, as bows/bowstrings don't do well in moisture, and swamps are wet places, ranged attacks might be better handled another way (dart blowpipes?). Etc.

Just because the elves moved to the swamps doesn't mean they actually live in them. I can imagine the elves living in hovels or huts/houses in trees above the swamp. A combination of ewoks and yoda if you will .Dovolente wrote:You could consider the units and their relation to the swamp environment a little more. Thus they would use bows from the tree tops onto attackers below, but their melee warrirs would carry blow pipes, as they would be the ones in the swamps fighting, and thus may require a quick ranged weopon suited to swampy conditions.
But i do agree with the whole mounted units thing, how about something like a giant lizard rider?
I really don't see anything out of the ordinary than simple recolours. The Desert Elves had a particular style to them, these seem.. dull versions of Rebels?
It might be good for future resources to be used by others if they need something like this, but I mean, Swamp Elves? What I'm gathering is that he says 'they went there to escape the heat', though I thought most of the swamps in UtBS were dead anyway as swamps are basically just marshland to be reduced into sand, so wouldn't this just revert them back to Desert Elves..?
Besides, if they moved into swamp, I'm sure the Saurians wouldn't be very happy

The desert elves are a recolored version of some outdated wood elf revisions.Elerium wrote:I really don't see anything out of the ordinary than simple recolours. The Desert Elves had a particular style to them, these seem.. dull versions of Rebels?
This is why..
It would be probably appreciated if you recolor the new wood elves for UtBs.FireMaster wrote:More lvl 2s
BTW shadow i might be able to help UtBS and i have heaps of free time.
On the idea of the faction well swamp elves OK but the graphics are too similar to the originals at the moment so I think this is not the saving grace for this idea.
Some might find this idea too stereotype.

Agreed, these "swamp elves" sound about as interesting as river elves, lake elves, mountain elves, sand elves, cave elves, bridge elves, grassland elves, hill elves, road elves, lava elves, dark elves, gold elves, high elves, astral elves, xyzzy elves and mushroom elves.
What is it with every game with elves having a dozen variations of them? It's boring.
