Wesnoth 1.2.1

Post by ivanovic »

Wesnoth 1.2.1 is out!

This is a bugfix release for 1.2 and it is compatible with the other 1.2 versions.

1.2.1 has several important bug fixes included. Many spelling mistakes were fixed and some translations updated. Some little optimizations did take place so that the game should feel a little faster.

You can check details at the changelog.

Downloads:
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wesn ... z?download (71.5MB)
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wesn ... 5?download

There is no Xdelta yet.

Check http://www.wesnoth.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7034 for info on using xdelta.

The Windows binary is ready, too:
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/wesnot ... e?download (58.7MB)

And last but not least, the MacOSX binary, keep in mind that OSX 10.3+ is required:
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/wesnot ... g?download (full version, 73.0MB)
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/wesnot ... g?download (lite version (no artwork and music), 43.9MB)

As a fallback you can also get the sources from http://files.wesnoth.org/ - you should first try to get files through SourceForge to help us save bandwidth.

server.wesnoth.org is ready to be used for multiplayer games.

If you have any problems, follow the instructions given in this thread before reporting it as a bug. Instructions for bug reporting can be found at http://www.wesnoth.org/wiki/ReportingBugs

All the other packager have already been notified, the binaries might be ready soon. The gentoo binaries are already available via emerge.

Enjoy!

Because of internet connection limitations, I've been unable to download 1.2.x. How much time do you think it'll take to have an xdelta from 1.1.14 Win32 binary to 1.2.1?

Could someone make some xdelta for the source, please ? And by the way, also for 1.1.14 to 1.2.0. People with low bandwidth would be very grateful of this....

I've added the xdelta files from 1.1.14 to 1.2 and 1.2 to 1.2.1 on sourceforge and in the download wiki page. Have fun.

Oh! I've been waiting for this a long time!!! Thank you very much!! (DISCLAIMER: this is not an exaggeration)

EDIT: since you only added the xdeltas of the source code (and I have 1.1.13 src somewhere), you've also given me some motivation to return to the GNU/Linux world with Ubuntu

I should have mentioned - the xdelta for the windows version would have been 60MB each. No real use in those.

What sort of timescale are you thinking of for these maintenance releases? Not trying to hurry you along or anything, just that 66 Mb is quite a hefty download and I can't decide whether to go ahead and download or wait for Wesnoth 1.2.2.

Depends on how fast important enough stuff gets done. Hard to guess in advance.
