although the ghost has impressive resistances, and takes only little damage, you must realize it also deals out little damage. and with 17hp for 20gold, it isn't much to be feared. as with countering them with knalgans, fighters during day (4-3 vs 2-3?), thunderers (7-1), and ulfs to finish them (2-4) are the way to go.

your point is fair and true. when you see a ghost, you think: "oh crap how am i going to get rid of that ghost?"

I always underestimate skeletons. And orcish archers. Especially orcish archers - those damn flaming arrows always seem to get me!

I never underestimate skeletons. I think one of the reasons is first impressions. Like many people here, my first exposure to skeletons was in the old Siege of Elensefar map. When I was playing the game, I had probably just got a bunch of Level 2 units, and decided that I could therefore send them out to fight. And then, of course, I got attacked by a bunch of skeletons. lost, and stayed scared of them ever since.Fiach Dubh wrote:I always underestimate skeletons. And orcish archers. Don't go to Glowing Fish for advice, he will say both yes and no.
Undead seem to be the race that I can always defeat, unless its UD vs UD, which boredom defeats me.

undead always seem to defeat me. it could be my lack of experience against them, but it always seems like they get more units and swarm upon mages, HI, woses, dwarvish fighters, etc. i think i have found why: the units that counter the undead are very expensive- 20 gold for mages, 19 gold for HI, 20 gold for woses, 16 for shamans, 16 for dwarvish fighters. (Elvish shamans and DF's aren't as expensive as the others, but they are more expensive than skeletons) compare this to the 14 gold for skele archers, 15 for skeletons, and the 16(?) for DA's. as i said earlier though, maybe it's my inexperience vs undead.

Dark Adepts are 20 gold I do believe. Anyway, units such as the Elvish Fighter, and the Spearman, are also useful against undead, with the sheer numbers you can get. You just have to use them right.

Probably because I haven't actually been able to play since 1.1.10, so I've either forgotten, or there have been some changes.Zhukov wrote:Wrong. They cost 16, as of dev version 1.1.12Oreb wrote:Dark Adepts are 20 gold I do believe.
You may be confusing them with mages.
