Agreed.
seconded, again...

Do you ink these by hand, or use a computer?

I was going to work on a Sisal, will you (Xandar) be redoing your old picture of her, or can I be allowed to interfere?[/OTishness]
great work, once again!

sorry for the double post.

My idea for Sisal. Based heavily off of Xandars, but without the maybe issue.

I need to clean up some, but just putting this up here. The hands need work, and it was inked in thin sharpie. Yay drafts.

I'll planning to fix the old one by just adding a bit of cloth (a shirt of sorts) under the chest-guard; when I do the coloring.

So does this mean my Sisal sketch is out then? That's OK, but I would have appreciated if someone had told me that before I spent hours on the sketch...

Anyways. Hamel sketch is finished, comments are welcome.

That is really quite good, I can't wait to see it inked and coloured.

There are a few things that don't quite look right (helmet wrap around, arm cloth and belt wrap around) however I don't have time to go into too much detail as to why they are wrong, or how to improve them (or find any more).

The braids look odd to me, normally braids are tapered towards the end.
Second the ties to keep the hair together are really far to the end.
The ties also look like they might fall off any second. Where the ties are the hair should be pressed together. Overall the image looks good.

Thank you for your comments!

The following edit shows my attempt at correcting the mistakes that were pointed out.

Thanks guys!

I appreciate the comments that has helped me to evolve. I think I will start inking Hamel now, I might go down slightly on the details; as far as i can see on other Wesnoth art, (or at least the art that I want to adjust my art to) has less detail than my sketch here has. But I'll keep most as they are, and by the way his armor is all leather, except from the nails of course.

Hopefully in a few days Hamel will be complete 8)

Edit:
In particular I'm anxious about how I'm going to make those horns look right

Here's the inked Hamel. Hopefully there's some good as it took me all day literally.

Anyway please comment, especially if you have constructive comments about the hands... The knuckles don't seem right, so I tried two different things. On his left hand I used just heavy shadow (thinking that could work with cel shading) and on his right I used gradient on selections.

Thanks!

Getting positive feedback makes me motivated, so although I spent all yesterday on inking Hamel, I felt like putting in some work today as well. Here's a few dwarven fighters that I'll ink and add to the background with Hamel. Do comment :)

Well, back to Hamel flats ...

I like the new dwarfs, nice details at the straps of the arm armour :)
A few comments:
The shield looks to beautiful, the warrior looks like he's been in some fights but his shield looks brand new.

The dwarf with the hammer, the lower head of the hammer isn't centered on the rod.
The same dwarf _his_ right shoulder looks bad, the armour floats in the air. _his_ left shoulder looks good.
