2v2 Clash extremly fast

Post by Pietro »

Here is replay of 2v2 Clash.
I surrender at 8 turn
I were faced orcs with undead,
orcs archers and s+r trolls blast me to the dust :(

Any ideas what I made mistake before first orcs rush are welcome...

But don't write that I suecide bat for nothing I had only 2 choices:
1) move there bat - and hope that he will slow opponent a bit
2) move there adept - let him die and lose power for counter attack

Sill (Rebel) vs Soliton (Drake) on Charge.

This game shows somewhat how difficult it is to measure luck in a programmatical way and thus making extreme cases in some way or another more managable. The deviation of expected values isn't so significant in this game but lucky kills for my opponent or non-kills on my side are. I.e. localized deviations from the expected values.
These series of events are of course not very likely to happen if you don't play too risky. So we just (occasionally) have to put up with them. It's that kind of randomness/luck that motivates to play against better players afterall. (if you're not totally oblivious to winning)

In any case it was a nice game we played for me still. :)
Oh and by no means I mean to imply that it was solely won by luck. It still needs a skilled player to exploit the situation and sill is surely one. Also, while I think I played pretty well I didn't play perfectly either. The first kill with my Augur was done with too little scouting. (I didn't see his Red Mage leader then) I should have rather used the Glider. You're welcome to point out more mistakes if you can find them. :P

Don't mind the "ping" talk btw, the server was apparently having some connection issues while we were playing.

The fans demand a posting of the Soliton vs. Sauron on Silverhead Crossing match.

Because the replay might have been played with another version. But you really have not got to worry about the warning as long as the replay works.

Did you download the development version? You need 1.1.11 for that replay to work some prior versions might work as well.

yeah, most are using the dev version, because, honestly, it's almost as stable =) plus the obvious: it's more balanced, up-to-date, and overall better.
