How the hell did you do that? When I joined we were both 13, and I'm still 13(14 in Feb), how did you jump to 15??turin wrote:See: My sig.
Yeah, people my age usually have way too much time on their hands to waste on fora. And yet everyone in my class except me manages to complain about how much time they waste on homework, and how they have no free time.
One thing that I've noticed over the past year or so is that this site has become more of a gaming forum than a game development forum... probably has something to do with the number of People with Too Much Free Time who have joined...
PS: Reading back over this thread, I found it amusing the varied responses to my age... I'm 15 now, in any case, which isn't as bad as 13. I like to think I've matured somewhat over the last 2 years.
Sorry for the meaningless post

Even as the fingers of the two hands are equal, so are human beings equal to one another. No one has any right, nor any preference to claim over another. You are brothers. - Muhammed
Personally, I rarely work more than 40 hours a week. Since there are 168 hours in a week, this leaves quite alot of time for 'diversions' such as Wesnoth.Foxwolf wrote:I am 14, and yet I find it strange so many people between the ages of 20 and 40+ play wesnoth, you'd imagine they would be busy with jobs and work and whatnot, that they wouldn't want to waste a minute on some strategy game...

Sure, sleep, meals, time spent with wife/friends/dog, and so forth also take much time, but there's still substantial time left over. Plus, my wife sometimes actually plays games with me, which helps alot.
I don't have quite as much time for games as I did when I was a teenager, but it's still fairly close.

19 here - which makes me feel kind of adverage. But about finding time for computer games, I have found that if you like it enough, you can always find the time for it. My dad and I run our own business, and I also do homeschool, so I don't really have hours upon hours of free time mostly. So I usually play BFW between customers at the store
And at night of corse.
Anyhow, you never did tell us how old you were Elvish Pillager. I am guessing.... probobally in the 16 - 19 range.

Oh boy. I hope you're joking.Assasin wrote:That just makes me a little suspicious of pedophiles. old dudes playing a young kids game?? No sense doth it make.
Wesnoth isn't a "young kid's game". It's a game for people of all ages. A game for people who enjoy high fantasy, and enjoy taking their time to think. Plenty of older people like exactly this.
And I'm just 25, thank you.

This may be a surprise to some of those teenagers who don't understand why adults play BfW, but... You'll probably be esentially the same person in 10 years.
Sure your skills, opportunities, and responsibilities will change a lot, but your core interests will mostly be the same. If you are interested in Wesnoth enough to contribute, you'll probably still be playing video games when you're 40.

Feel free to PM me if you start a new terrain oriented thread. It's easy for me to miss them among all the other art threads.

That, and I'm older since then too!Taurus wrote:Anyhow, you never did tell us how old you were Elvish Pillager.

It's all fun and games until someone loses a lawsuit. Oh, and by the way, sending me private messages won't work. :/ If you must contact me, there's an e-mail address listed on the website in my profile.
Geez, and I used to think I would grow out of computer games. Unfortunitly (or fortuniatly, depending on how you look at it) it looks like they are here to stay.Eleazar wrote:This may be a surprise to some of those teenagers who don't understand why adults play BfW, but... Uh, no... I was 14 when you joined. Yes, I was 13 when I answered this poll, but that was a few months before you joined. My birthday is in September - you do the math. It works out. I'm 15 now. Trust me.romnajin wrote:How the hell did you do that? When I joined we were both 13, and I'm still 13(14 in Feb), how did you jump to 15??

Good point lol. I don't know what it is about Wesnoth that just keeps you hooked. Some other games - especially the polished copyrighted commercial ones - are sometimes more fun - for a time - but then you grow bored of them really fast. On the other hand, I have been playing wesnoth for... maby a year and half now and I am still hooked.Zhukov wrote:What sane person, having discovered something as fun and flexible as Wesnoth, would want to grow out of it?
