You mean mid '04. Wesnoth was at 0.1 in mid '03.

I must say, I'm suprised at how many more people began in 0.8 than either 0.9 or 0.7... but other than that this poll holds no suprises.

I found version 0.4.5 on a Spanish website, but I couldn't find any older version.

The repository was not used until IIRC version 0.4, so that won't get you the earliest ever version. I doubt anyone has that anymore.

0.7.5, I think. It was before the hills were changed to woods in Crossroads and the saurians appeared. I've installed every version from 0.8.0 onwards.

The biggest difference today is that I used to be able to read all the daily forum posts in a few minutes.

I started playing Wesnoth before they put the version # on. Only two scenarios in Heir to the Throne, very difficult. I mentioned this a while ago, and the consensus I think was v0.3, but I could be off. First time I played, I became inspired to shout "For Wesnoth!" every time one of my units attacked. Only three or four units. This game has come a long way.

umm.... No? mid 03' was version 0.5 when I came in (august or september at least...)... you might be thinking early 03'?... I doubt wesnoth could have jumped 4 major versions in 2 or 3 months....
